Italian design house Pierpaolo Lazzarini has revealed plans for a gigantic $8bn turtle-shaped terayacht, with Saudi Arabia as the proposed location for the project. If funded, the project would be the world's largest water structure. The boat, Pangeos, a name derived from the prehistoric supercontinent Pangea, could potentially house up to 60,000 guests.
The terayacht will house 19 private villas and 64 apartments on each of the turtle wings, and will be equipped with nine HTS electric engines, each capable of 16,800 horsepower, which would allow the massive structure to cruise at a speed of five knots.

One of Jamaica’s most popular tourist towns, Montego Bay, will soon see the development of a new luxury resort complex. The $100 million project broke ground on Friday and is expected to take 2 years to complete and will create 300 jobs. Named The Vista, the mixed-use complex will be located in the area known as the “Hip Strip” along Montego Bay’s Jimmy Cliff Boulevard.
The Vista will offer a mix of vacation and residential resort living as well as 10,000 square feet of commercial business space. It is expected to contain 432 rooms across the site’s 7 acres and will be completed in 4 different phases. There will be a mix of villas, condos, and hotel rooms, all expected to have an ultra-modern and luxurious design. Amenities will include restaurants and entertainment venues, multiple pools, a putting green, and tennis courts, as well as access to the property’s beautiful beaches.

Jamaica’s Minister of Tourism, Edmund Bartlett, was on hand for the groundbreaking ceremony last Friday and joined representatives from the C and H Property Development Company and MoneyMasters Real Estate and Infrastructure Investment Limited, the project’s developers. This project is unique in that it is funded by Jamaicans and not by foreign investment, which is often the case in Jamaica.

During the 2024-25 season, a new ski resort will open in the United States for the first time since the 2000s. Located just outside of Park City, Mayflower Mountain is a massive development that when it’s fully built out, will feature two base villages, thirteen lifts, four new terrain pods, and much more. 4300 acres of skiable terrain will be available during the winter, with fifty miles and hiking and mountain biking trails during the offseason. With construction well underway, a lot of work is being done quickly. Here are the latest developments on Mayflower.

Hard Rock International may never get its multibillion-dollar casino project in Spain off the ground. It’s still only a dream 10 years after it initially surfaced, and now faces complaints of being an environmental hazard.

A decade has passed since the Government of Catalonia in the north of Spain presented the Barcelona World concept. It was to be an entertainment and games mega-complex in the province of Tarragona that would attract new tourism to the area.
The project stalled for various reasons. Now, Catalonia’s Ministry of Climate Action, Food and Rural Agenda issued a report calling for changes in the urban master plan (UMP) for not meeting environmental requirements.

Work has begun on a $1.2bn resort in the Costa Rican province of Guanacaste that will bring together a Marriott hotel and an artificial beach lagoon.

The Nya project will be built on a 900ha site near the town of Liberia on the Pacific coast in northwest Costa Rica. As well as the hospitality offering, there will be a free trade zone using the nearby Daniel Oduber Quirós international airport.
The site had been earmarked for a theme park to be built by US entertainment company Discovery, a project that was announced in 2017 by former Costa Rican president Luis Guillermo Solís.

The $100m first stage of the scheme will include four beachfront condominium towers along with a sports and wellbeing centre. This is expected to create around 600 jobs, and aims to complete next year. The work is being carried out by two Costa Rican companies, contractor Edica Constructora and industrial group Pedregal.
The complete project is expected to be built in stages over the next 20 years.

Caesars Entertainment will aim to build a new casino in New York’s Times Square, in partnership with SL Green Realty.
The operator will submit a licence application for a planned downstate casino in New York, which would be the first full casino in New York City. Other operators that have expressed interest include Las Vegas Sands, Wynn Resorts and Universal Entertainment.
Caesars and SL Green said they intend to redevelop 1515 Broadway, a property just off Times Square, to build Caesars Palace Times Square. Besides a casino, it will also include a Broadway theatre, which will host The Lion King, and restaurants.
