Officials with Kentucky-based Churchill Downs Inc. say construction crews are making progress on the $290 million Terre Haute Casino Resort. General Manager Mike Rich told our partners at WTWO-TV the company is still targeting an opening date near the end of the first quarter of 2024.
When complete, the venue will feature a 400,000-square-foot casino building with 56,000 square feet of gaming space that includes 1,000 slots and 50 table games, as well as a 125-room hotel.

The Hydrokinetic Energy Geyser and Tidal Pool resort is a power plant that uses renewable energy to produce electricity. Located on the coast of North-West Scotland, a popular area for surfing, water activities, and renewable energy, the resort merges tourism with clean electrical energy generation. The entire resort sits on an artificial floating platform made from clusters of hollow hexagonal ballast-like columns housing vertical dual reversible turbines that can increase the resort’s area by floating and locking sections into the frame. The turbines form is inspired by the surrounding volcanic basalt rock coastlines, creating different height levels and enclosed rock pools—they are hollow, allowing the seawater to enter as the tide rises to turn the turbines to generate electricity, then turn in the opposite direction as the water levels ebb, providing a more dynamic and efficient way to harness tidal energy.

A look at the current construction on the Disneyland Hotel's new Disney Vacation Club tower.

Back in January 2022, Showboat's owner Bart Blatstein made the announcement that he wanted to bring more family friendly attractions to his resort.Blatstein knew that Atlantic City was missing the family entertainment aspect as it mostly catered to gamblers. He wanted to corner the family market so he held a press conference to announce the Island Waterpark.This waterpark was billed as largest indoor waterpark in the world. Costing over $100 million dollars, this year-round indoor waterpark will sit in a retractable glass-pane roof and will consist of 103,000-square-feet of space.

NELA Homes, a Los Angeles-based developer, has received approval from the Los Angeles City Council for a mid-rise hotel in Hollywood.
NELA, located in the eastside neighborhood of Highland Park, proposed the hotel at the end of 2020. In the interim, the firm obtained a zoning change from the City Planning Commission, which was approved before this week’s City Council vote, Urbanize LA reported.

The site is located at 6445 West Sunset Boulevard, near the intersection of Sunset and Cahuenga, in a neighborhood where Relevant Group has developed four independently branded hotels.
