MSC Cruises is doing something no other line is, it’s building its own luxury Caribbean island to accompany its incredible Ocean Cay Marine Reserve. As the brand expands its fleet with ever larger vessels like the newly launched MSC World America and the upcoming MSC World Atlantica, the dock required further dredging. Removed sand was piled nearby where it created the start of what’s being called Little Ocean Cay, or Little Cay – it’s not yet clear.
As the island is under development, there’s no statistics officially for the size and no tours. Various construction equipment was hard at work during a recent visit.

MSC to unveil new private island in the Bahamas by 2027Source: https://www.ship2shore.it/en/msc-to-unveil-new-private-island-in-the-bahamas-by-2027A new island is emerging in the Bahamas, just off Ocean Cay, the private marine reserve developed by MSC Cruises. Known as Little Cay, the new destination is being created through ongoing dredging works and is set to become MSC’s second private eco-resort in the archipelago.
Still under development, the island is expected to open within the next two years and will replicate Ocean Cay’s layout and natural style on a smaller scale - about one-third its size. Once operational, Little Cay will be used to host guests from a second cruise ship during peak days or may serve as an exclusive retreat for Yacht Club passengers, MSC’s premium-class clientele.
