  1. St. Regis Hotels, part of Marriott International, broke ground this month on the St. Regis Cap Cana Resort & Residences in the Dominican Republic.

    Slated to open in 2023, the resort is expected to feature 200 luxurious guest rooms and suites with spectacular ocean views and 67 residences, in addition to the iconic St. Regis Butler Service, bespoke amenities and a world-class golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus.

  3. Luxury resort brand, The Ritz-Carlton, will be opening its first hotel in the Pacific Northwest in Portland, Oregon. With an anticipated opening date in 2023, the hotel the 35-floor hotel will house 251 rooms and 138 residential units.

    The Ritz-Carlton Residences will provide luxury living at a level not yet seen in Portland, complete with sophisticated style, luxurious finishes and legendary Ritz-Carlton service, including room service and housekeeping. Owners will have dedicated amenities, such as a best-in-class owner's lounge, as well as access to state-of-the-art fitness facilities and spa. Stunning wrap-around views of Portland's magnificent downtown skyline on one side and the Cascade mountain range, The Willamette River, and Mt. Hood


  4. A new 11-acre water park and hotel is planned in Glendale, Arizona near the Westgate Entertainment District. Construction for Crystal Lagoons, Island Resort has been unanimously approved by the Glendale City Council. In addition to the water park, the resort is planned to have 630 hotel rooms, amusement park rides, a restaurant 130-ft in the air, a 4D theater and more. Construction is planned to begin in the fourth quarter of 2020 and they plan to open in October 2022, ahead of the 2023 Super Bowl, which is also scheduled to take place in Glendale.

    Dubai mega project reaches construction landmark with bridge installation.

    Construction on a Dubai mega project has reached a milestone as a 7,700-tonne bridge is lifted into place at One Zaabeel. The 192-metre long first section of the steel structure, known as The Link, was lifted 100 metres into the air to begin bringing together the two buildings.
    On Thursday, developer Ithra Dubai said the section took 12 days to lift into place. More than 110 jacks and heavy-duty strand jacks were used for the operation, calling for a concerted effort by a team of experts in construction, engineering and contracting.

    The first section of the Link is now in its final position. The second lift of 816 tonnes is scheduled for October and will complete the Link to reach its final length of 226 metres.

  6. Nobu Hotels will be opening a new property in Atlanta, Georgia.

    Located in Phipps Plaza, Nobu Hotels has partnered with Simon Property Group to create and launch a new Nobu Hotel & Restaurant in this mixed-use development. Additional elements of this exciting new development call for a unique, curated dining experience, a 90,000 square-foot Life Time® Athletic healthy living and entertainment destination, and a 12-story Class A office building, complete with a three-story lower level parking garage.
    Nobu Hotel Atlanta will begin a phased opening in summer 2021.


  7. Four Seasons will be opening their 2nd San Francisco resort on October 1, 2020. Four Seasons Hotel San Francisco at Embarcadero is the top 11 floors of a 48-storey landmark building in downtown San Francisco.

  10. Aman New York City is planned to open sometime this year.
