The Royal Arts Complex, a major collaborative project between the King Salman Park Foundation and the Ministry of Culture, is steadily taking shape in the heart of Riyadh. Once completed, this dynamic hub for the arts and culture will be a key feature of King Salman Park, becoming one of Riyadh’s most iconic landmarks.
Designed by renowned Spanish architect Ricardo Bofill, the Royal Arts Complex will seamlessly combine modernity with traditional Salmani architecture, offering visitors an immersive cultural and artistic experience. The complex will feature seven major cultural assets, each aligned with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 to foster creativity, support talent, and enrich the nation's cultural sector.
The complex’s centerpiece will be the Museum of World Cultures, an architectural marvel rising to a height of 110 meters. Other notable attractions include the National Theater, which will boast a seating capacity of 2,300, and the Royal Institute of Traditional Arts, which will house three academies: the Academy of Traditional Visual Arts, the Academy of Cultural Heritage and Restoration, and the Academy of Theatrical Arts.
In addition to these institutions, the Royal Arts Complex will feature a cultural cinema complex designed to host both local and international events, a pavilion for sculptures and artworks, and a specialized library containing over 500,000 books focused on arts and culture. The space will also include a striking dome-shaped venue for cultural events and exhibitions, further enhancing its role as a vibrant cultural destination.
Spanning an impressive 500,000 square meters, the Royal Arts Complex is set to become a symbol of Saudi Arabia’s commitment to the arts, offering an exciting cultural space for future generations.
