  1. Aldar Properties has entered into an exclusive partnership with Nobu Hospitality to launch a new luxury hotel, branded residences, and a fine dining experience at Mamsha Al Saadiyat.

The agreement will see Aldar develop the five-star hotel, featuring 165 luxurious guest rooms and suites, including the rooftop Nobu Villa.

Expected to open in 2026, the luxury hotel will offer guests and visitors access to Mamsha Beach and its lively waterfront promenade, four food and beverage venues including the first Nobu restaurant in Abu Dhabi, state-of-the-art wellness and fitness centre, opulent swimming pools, and expansive event and conference facilities.

Situated alongside the hotel, the planned development includes the first branded Nobu Residences in the Middle East and the second worldwide, offering high-end, multi-bedroom sea-view residences.

Nobu Residences will offer bespoke amenities, including raised gardens overlooking the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, a state-of-the-art gym, a movie screening room, swimming pools, indoor and outdoor play areas, and exclusive access to a lounge, where residents and their guests can enjoy exceptional events and social experiences.

Talal Al Dhiyebi, group CEO at Aldar Properties said: “Our partnership with Nobu is a testament to Aldar’s ability to attract international partners and demonstrates the increasing appeal of Abu Dhabi as a leading destination for international investors and visitors – to be home to the second Nobu Residences worldwide and the first in the Middle East clearly demonstrates this. Nobu’s iconic brand, synonymous with luxury and F&B expertise, will not only complement our existing portfolio and offering but will also elevate Saadiyat Island’s prominence and status as a world-class leisure, residential, and cultural destination.”

“The new project activates Aldar’s existing prime landbank in Mamsha Al Saadiyat and will bolster our portfolio of high-quality and recurring income-generating properties across residential, and hospitality and leisure segments.”

Trevor Horwell, CEO of Nobu Hospitality, stated: “We are thrilled to be partnering with such a highly recognised company as Aldar, one of the most prominent real estate developers in the region, who share our vision for creating remarkable destination projects and lifestyle experiences. This is an exciting time for Saadiyat Island, which has become one of the world’s most desirable leisure destinations, and we look forward to offering our Nobu guests access to its incredible landscapes, cuisine, and culture.”

The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) and Miral, Abu Dhabi’s leading creator of immersive destinations and experiences, announced 25% construction completion of the immersive, multi-sensory attraction art experience teamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi, located in the Saadiyat Cultural District.

A partnership with teamLab, the globally acclaimed, interdisciplinary Tokyo-based art collective, the construction of teamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi is slated to be completed in 2024 and set to be an immersive, inspirational space at the intersection of art and technology, igniting curiosity, imagination, and creativity in all who visit. The latest offering of the Saadiyat Cultural District, the 17,000sqm (GFA) teamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi building has been conceived with unparalleled installations that will be unique to Abu Dhabi, created through an extensive experimentation process.

H.E. Saood Abdulaziz Al Hosani, Undersecretary at DCT Abu Dhabi, said: “We are delivering on our vision to welcome the world to Abu Dhabi and inspire future generations to embark on journeys of creativity and discovery. As we transform the emirate into an unparalleled global destination with arts, culture and entertainment at the forefront, teamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi will be truly unique and a milestone of innovation and progress. Through the power of partnership with DCT, Miral, teamLab and our ecosystem of contractors, we will deliver a thoughtfully-curated experience and an iconic culture and tourism destination to share with the world – all of which reinforces Saadiyat Cultural District’s credentials globally.”

Mohamed Abdalla Al Zaabi, CEO of Miral, said: “The development of teamLab Phenomena Abu Dhabi demonstrates how Miral is contributing to the evolution of the emirate’s cultural landscape. Working with our partners, we are pioneering cutting-edge immersive technology to interpret environmental phenomena, which is the basis for a curated experiential space that influences the incredible architecture around it and which offers visitors a fresh perspective every time they visit. This creates a unique guest experience in Abu Dhabi that will be truly transformative, memorable and sharable.”

Additionally, Miral in partnership with DCT Abu Dhabi has appointed ALEC, a UAE-based leading innovative construction group, as the main contractor for the construction of this mega-project.

Visitors will be invited to open their minds and embark on a journey through teamLab’s new concept of Environmental Phenomena, which offers a new perspective on the world around us. The featured artworks are created and shaped by the environment which produces the various phenomena, and the unique architecture plays an important role in providing the artworks with an environment to evolve freely and organically, as if they were life-forms themselves. The experience will be unique to each visitor, changing with each visit, as they discover a place in which to endlessly explore and transcend the limits of their imagination.

Aldar Properties has launched Saadiyat Lagoons, a nature-inspired residential community in one of the most desirable areas of Abu Dhabi.
The development, on the east side of Abu Dhabi’s Saadiyat Island, within the 6.2 million square metre plot acquired by Aldar earlier in 2022, will have 207 villas released in its first phase, which will be available exclusively for Emirati buyers on November 3. Prices start from Dh6.1 million.

“Saadiyat Lagoons is located on one of the most desirable pieces of land in Abu Dhabi, which makes it an incredibly exciting proposition,” said Rashed Al Omaira, chief commercial officer of Aldar Development.

“Each aspect of the development has been carefully planned in response to the changing needs of our customers, including the amenities, sustainable design, and options for home customisation. Once completed, the community will boost Saadiyat Island’s position as a fully developed residential, cultural and leisure destination, and we expect to see strong demand amongst UAE nationals.”

Amenities include an eco-corniche, an amphitheatre, a dry-deck water play area, a skate park, paddle, basketball and volleyball courts, a climbing wall, playgrounds and green spaces and parks.

The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi) and Miral, Abu Dhabi’s leading creator of immersive destinations and experiences, have announced that the Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi has reached 25% completion, with the UAE-based construction group ALEC having been appointed as the main contractor earlier this year.

Located in Saadiyat Cultural District, the Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi is anticipated to be the largest of its kind in the region, allowing visitors to travel on a 14-billion-year journey through time and space – from the earliest origins of our universe to a thought-provoking perspective into our Earth’s future. Due to be completed at the end of 2025, it will be a scientific research and teaching institution and an educational resource for learning about the evolving story of our planet, aiming to ignite a life-long passion for the natural world in visitors of all ages.

H.E. Saood Abdulaziz Al Hosani, Undersecretary at DCT Abu Dhabi, said: “The Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi will bring a new dimension of educational discovery to the Abu Dhabi community, as an entirely unique cultural attraction that offers visitors and residents endless inspiration. With work now underway on this pioneering institution, the realisation of our vision for the Saadiyat Cultural District moves one step closer. When completed, Saadiyat will offer the highest concentration of cultural experience in the world, cementing Abu Dhabi’s position as an innovative global destination of choice.”

Mohamed Abdalla Al Zaabi, CEO of Miral, said: “Through our partnership with DCT Abu Dhabi, we have been able to make strong progress on the development of this iconic cultural landmark. The Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi will provide visitors with an enriching cultural experience to help position Saadiyat as the destination of choice and Abu Dhabi as a centre for culture, arts, and creativity. It also supports achieving Saadiyat Vision 2025, which aims to grow domestic, regional, and global visitor numbers, supporting the development of Abu Dhabi’s tourism ecosystem.”

The museum will join the diverse cultural institutions and museums located in the Saadiyat Cultural District, which features the renowned Louvre Abu Dhabi. The district will soon welcome the Zayed National Museum, the national museum of the UAE; Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, focussing on global Modern and Contemporary art; and the Abrahamic Family House, composed of a mosque, a synagogue and a church within one shared space, to inspire and nurture peaceful coexistence among people of all faiths.

The Natural History Museum Abu Dhabi will offer employment opportunities in the emirate and on the wider national and regional levels, with curators set to be appointed to cover the full spectrum of natural sciences. In addition, it aims to attract and develop young talent as part of Abu Dhabi’s drive to accelerate the culture and creative industries.
