Another big Saudi mega-project on the horizon.

His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Public Investment Fund and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Jeddah Central Development Company, has launched the masterplan and main features of the Jeddah Central Project (previously known as New Jeddah Downtown).

The ambitious SR75 billion ($20 billion) project will come up on a 5.7 million sq m of land overlooking the Red Sea to be financed by the Public Investment Fund and from local and international investors.

The Jeddah Central Project is expected to achieve an estimated added value of SR47 billion for the kingdom's economy by 2030. It will include four notable landmarks (Opera House - Museum - Sports Stadium - Oceanarium) and contribute to opening the way for the local private sector to participate in the development, which will help shape the operation of promising economic sectors including tourism, entertainment, culture, and sports.

In addition, the city will benefit from the building and development of modern residential areas, encompassing 17,000 residential units and diversified hotel projects that offer more than 2,700 hotel rooms, and the provision of integrated solutions for the business sector.
The company will complete the project in three phases, the first of which is set to be finished by the end of 2027. Following this milestone, the Jeddah Central Project will begin welcoming Jeddah residents, together with visitors from both inside and outside the kingdom

    Ritz-Carlton Reserve coming to Eleuthera.
It has today been announced that Marriott has signed an agreement with Cotton Bay Holdings to introduce a Ritz-Carlton Reserve property on the island of Eleuthera in the Bahamas.
The hotel will be located on the southern end of the island, and will feature 90 guest rooms and suites, plus 60 residences, which will be two to five bedroom villas. The resort will feature an 18-hole golf course, a spa, swimming pools, and restaurants. The Ritz-Carlton Reserve will be in the space of the former Cotton Bay Club, which initially opened in 1959.

The resort is expected to open in around four years, so I’d be surprised if it opens before 2026 at the earliest. With the pace at which hotel construction happens, that’s probably even optimistic. For that matter, a lot can change with projects like this depending on economic conditions, etc.
For those not familiar with Ritz-Carlton Reserve, this is Marriott’s uber-luxury hotel brand. Ritz-Carlton Reserve properties are on a totally different level than standard Ritz-Carlton properties, and are generally much smaller and with more personalized service.

Possibly a new casino coming to CitiField in New York and some pretty futuristic plans for Manhattan!

Former casino analyst Jason Ader will submit his plans for an ambitious casino resort project in New York on 10 December 2021, at a time when US casinos have been asked enforce mask mandates due to the pandemic. In a recent interview, Ader elaborated his vision for the proposed casino whose estimated cost is currently said to be $3 billion.
Ader’s vision for the casino resort is an elaborate scheme as it will feature a number of new innovations in the industry. The proposed name for this casino resort is Mirai which is the Japanese word for future. Ader says this casino resort project will go beyond a quintessential casino outlet as it will cater to each aspect of entertainment.

Mirai would be the world’s largest trading arena for cryptocurrency besides operating as a casino resort. Ader also wants to include a landing pad for flying cars, an esports arena and a venue for big events like the NYFW in the project ambit.
While Ader’s plans for Mirai are ambitious and optimistic, he is not the sole runner in the race for a New York casino license. The New York State Gaming Commission (NYSGC) has finalized 10 Dec as the last date for requests for information for three new unawarded commercial casino licenses in the southern part of New York.

These three licenses are a part of seven new casinos covered under the New York Casino Gambling Amendment, 2013. Four non-tribal casinos have already been built, while discussions and proposals are underway for the remaining three.

Contenders like MGM Resorts International, the Genting Group, Bally’s Corp and Las Vegas Sands Corp (where Ader was a former board member) are actively seeking an opportunity to expand their operations. MGM is eyeing an expansion from slot-machine parlors and horse-racing tracks to offerings like table games. As for the other two operators, they have already discussed a plan for a casino in Citi Field with hedge-fund manager and Mets owner, Steve Cohen.

The Four Seasons in Sharm El Sheikh will almost double in size with it's newly announced expansion plans.

Along a kilometre of private beachfront where the southern Sinai desert meets the Red Sea, Four Seasons Resort Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt has been a favourite of sunseekers since opening nearly 20 years ago. Now, a major expansion and enhancement project will add 22 hectares (54 acres), doubling the size of the current property and making room for more guest accommodations, dining options and pools, plus an all-new fitness facility and a large conference centre for meetings and destination weddings.
When the enhancements are complete in early 2022, Four Seasons Resort Sharm El Sheikh will offer a large collection of luxury suites including multi-bedroom residence-style accommodations with private pools; five new food and beverage concepts; renovated spa and all-new two-storey fitness centre; enhanced recreational facilities including a new PADI dive centre plus tennis and squash courts; and for its youngest guests, an all-new dedicated children’s club. A new state-of-the-art convention centre will more than double the Resort’s event capacity with new indoor and outdoor spaces for up to 2,000 guests.

The Sam Lord's Barbados Resort is still having some issues by the looks of it but this video shows that at least some of the work has been started on the Wyndham property surrounding it...
Would be interested to hear more about it as there's not a lot of detail online and Wyndham have been keeping very quiet about it.

This video is from March 2021

This video is from October 2021

Plenty of movement between the two but no "official" news to be found.

This abondoned masterplanned development in Turkey isn't the only one, I didn't realise there is another developement in the same area also with identical villas which they talk about in the video. Really interesting look at how these huge developements can go wrong and what ges left behind.
