Universal Music Group (UMG), the world leader in music-based entertainment and Dakia U-Ventures, the entertainment impact investment group, today announced the launch of UMUSIC Hotels, a new global collection of music-based experiential hotel properties, as part of their previously announced joint venture. UMUSIC Hotels’ first three announced locations will be Atlanta, Georgia; Biloxi, Mississippi; and Orlando, Florida; with additional cities across the U.S. and around the world to come.


    Pyramid Hotel Group has partnered with the joint venture for the United States operations of the hotels. Warren Fields, Pyramid’s Chief Executive Officer, added, “We’re excited to work with the Dakia U-Ventures and Universal Music Group teams to launch this new category of experiential hospitality and helping to create properties that truly embody the spirit of the communities of which UMUSIC Hotels will be a part.     UMUSIC Hotels will create immersive experiences for fans, guests and artists alike, with music and entertainment at the forefront of design and guest experience all around the globe. As part of their commitment to the local community, each property will be skillfully designed to complement the city landscape and authentically incorporate elements of the local music scene. The UMUSIC Broadwater Hotel in Biloxi will seamlessly integrate a stunning performance venue and a luxury hotel with an immersive architecture style. In Atlanta, the UMUSIC Hotel will include a holistic entertainment venue. UMUSIC Orlando’s design will similarly reflect a music-first experience for guests.

  3. Grand Hyatt announced recently plans for their first hotel in St. Lucia.

    Grand Hyatt St. Lucia will be a captivating destination, featuring 345 guestrooms, including more than 50 luxury suites; three restaurants that will feature world-class chefs and iconic dishes reflective of the destination; three bars, including a lobby lounge, pool bar and beach-side bar; a 8,000 square foot destination spa and fitness center to connect guests with their physical and mental wellbeing; three swimming pools; and more than 23,000 square feet of dynamic, state-of-the-art gathering spaces designed to handle events of any size and kind. Additional offerings and amenities will include a kid's club and activity center, retails shops and an ultramodern screening room.
    The resort is scheduled to open in 2023.

  5. The Chatwal Lodge, located in the Catskills Mountains, just 90-miles outside of Manhattan, in Bethel, NY is set to open in April 2021.

    When open, the hideaway will feature hand-hewn timbers, huge stone fireplaces and mighty trunks of 40-foot white pine trees towering from floor to ceiling, serving as an inspiration for its all-suite accommodations.
    Estimated room price for a night in the Chatwal Lodge will be $1,200.

  6. As of January 2021, guests to the Le Méridien Mina Seyahi Beach Resort and the adjacent The Westin Mina Seyahi Resort in Dubai will be able to enjoy an all-new waterpark dubbed “Jungle Bay”, which is currently under construction at the site.
    The Canadian waterslide manufacturer WhiteWater West is producing a range of attractions for Jungle Bay. Via the “Lighthouse” slide tower, visitors will be able to access a WizzardTM Mat Racer, which will consist of three 130-meter-long slide lanes that offer both closed and open tube sections, 360-degree curves and further twists and turns for an exciting face-to-face racing experience. Furthermore, there will be three body slides connected to the Lighthouse, all of which can be experienced by guests with a min. body height of 1.1 meters.

  7. Hotel Nikko Phnom Penh in Cambodia will open in 2024.

    Hotel Nikko Phnom Penh will be located in the Japan Trade Center (tentative name) in the Toul Tom Poung district, a new facility containing office space, retail outlets and the new hotel, and the first major complex in the Cambodian capital to be developed by a Japanese company. This facility aims to act as a networking base for international businesses and to showcase a new form of collaboration whereby Cambodian companies deploy Japanese construction technology in joint ventures with Japanese firms.

    The hotel will offer 201 guest rooms each with a standard area of about 36 m² on floors 14-22 of the new building. It will feature a wide range of restaurants, including Japanese cuisine and all-day dining, and a skydeck bar on the 23rd floor where guests can enjoy stunning views across the capital.

  8. St. Regis Hotels, part of Marriott International, broke ground this month on the St. Regis Cap Cana Resort & Residences in the Dominican Republic.

    Slated to open in 2023, the resort is expected to feature 200 luxurious guest rooms and suites with spectacular ocean views and 67 residences, in addition to the iconic St. Regis Butler Service, bespoke amenities and a world-class golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus.

  10. Luxury resort brand, The Ritz-Carlton, will be opening its first hotel in the Pacific Northwest in Portland, Oregon. With an anticipated opening date in 2023, the hotel the 35-floor hotel will house 251 rooms and 138 residential units.
