The Clark County Commission in Nevada unanimously approved plans for Houston billionaire businessman Tilman Fertitta’s proposed resort on the Las Vegas Strip Wednesday 19th October.

The 43-story luxury project will include 2,420 hotel rooms, a theater consisting of 2,536 seats and a multiple-level parking garage on a 6.3-acre lot located on the east side of Las Vegas Boulevard South near the Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino, according to Clark County public records.

The casino resort will also include retail space, indoor and outdoor dining, a spa and fitness center, conventions, offices and a wedding chapel, according to the document.

Changes are coming to the The Venetian and The Palazzo.

Built in 1999, the Venetian Las Vegas isn’t one of Sin City’s oldest resorts, by any means--though it certainly is one of the biggest, as it boasts 36 stories and is more than 475 feet. It also houses the world’s second-largest hotel, with 4,049 rooms, 3,068 suites, and a 120,000-square-foot casino.

So yeah, it’s pretty big. But now that the Apollo Global Management (APO) has purchased the hotel, as well as its sister hotel The Palazzo (the largest building in Nevada) and the Sands Expo center from its former owner, the late casino magnate Sheldon Adelson, it’s going to get even bigger.
The renovations will be overseen by the Los Angeles-based design collective RIOS. The Venetian was launched with a theme based on Venice, Italy, featuring architectural replicas of landmarks such as the Palazzo Ducale, Piazza San Marco, and the Rialto Bridge, and Nichols has stressed that the vibe won’t be lost in the upgrade.

There is a new hotel possibly coming to the Las Vegas strip. The new resort is planned for the corner of Polaris Avenue and Quail Avenue, just south of Allegiant Stadium.
News3lv reported that the new project will be called Nuance Las Vegas Hotel & Spa at Allegiant Stadium. New Angle Development is the company behind the project. The hotel is being described as a full-service hotel and day spa that will also offer a restaurant, ballroom and convention hall. The top floor will have a rooftop bar complete with kitchen and terrace. The hotel will have 19 floors with 340 rooms and four floors of parking.

The Wild Wild West Gambling Hall & Hotel, located on Tropicana Avenue less than a mile west of the Strip, closed its doors last week with only three days’ notice after operating since 1974, originally as the King 8.

Owner Station Casinos has announced plans to raze the casino and attached 260-room motel to make way for an upscale resort, though no timetable for the new project was revealed.
