Wynn Resorts, Limited has named Thomas Schoen as President of Wynn Al Marjan Island, its new multi-billion-dollar integrated resort set to open in Ras Al Khaimah in early 2027. In his new role, Schoen will oversee all operational aspects of the resort, the company’s debut in the Middle East North Africa (MENA) region and its first beachfront destination.

Now that Wynn Resorts has selected ALEC as the primary contractor for its ground-breaking Marjan Island resort in Ras Al Khaimah, we have some certainty that the project is proceeding according to plan. It was a joint effort between Marjan Island, RAK Hospitality Holding, and Wynn Resorts Limited that made the announcement. ALEC Engineering and Contracting (ALEC) is actually a division of the Investment Corporation of Dubai (ICD) and they will be working alongside the German firm Bauer International, which will handle works related to piling and enabling.

The developers of the UAE’s first casino resort have given a first look and new name for the game-changing multi-billion-dollar property. Wynn Resorts has announced the highly anticipated resort coming to Ras Al Khaimah will be called Wynn Al Marjan Island.

The global hospitality giant also unveiled the design vision of its first-ever beachfront resort, which is inspired by the tranquil seascape of Al Marjan Island, a group of four islands.

Wynn Resorts expects that construction on its casino resort on Al-Marjan Island in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will commence in a matter of weeks, forecasting a 2027 debut.

The advancement of the UAE project is vital for Wynn’s long-term trajectory, because as its portfolio currently stands, it runs two Macau venues and three in the US, with the Macau duo doing much of the heavy lifting.

ALEC appointed as main contractor for UAE’s first casino resort in Ras Al Khaimah.

ALEC Engineering and Contracting (ALEC), part of the Investment Corporation of Dubai (ICD), has been awarded the main contract for the construction of the integrated resort development. In a statement, Marjan said the contractor’s expertise in the construction of complex and iconic projects across diverse sectors was key to its appointment.

Bauer International, the German foundation specialist, will undertake the piling and enabling works on the project, the statement continued, pointing out that Bauer has already begun construction preparation on the project site.

Wynn Resorts, the developer that revealed plans for casino operations in Ras Al Khaimah has now registered trademarks for the names ‘Arabian Strip’ and ‘Marjan Strip’. The trademarks were filed by the Vegas hotel firm last year and have now successfully been registered, Arabian Business’ sister publication Hotelier Middle East reported Friday.
