Ras Al Khaimah’s Wynn Al Marjan Island has appointed a new president.
Max Tappeiner joins from Wynn Las Vegas, where he served as senior vice president of operations and executive vice president of operations after joining in 2022.
He will now lead the integrated resort from September 1, 2024. Wynn Al Marjan Island will be home to the UAE’s first casino. It is scheduled to open in December 2026.
His appointment was announced on LinkedIn, where he said: “I’m beyond grateful and humbled to join the Wynn Al Marjan Island team. Thank you to Craig Billings [Wynn Resorts CEO] for this amazing opportunity.
“I’m looking forward to this exciting journey as we expand to a new territory as the first gaming operator in the UAE.”
He takes over the role previously occupied by Thomas Schoen, though it’s unclear what Schoen’s position is now.
Before joining Wynn, Tappeiner held senior leadership positions at Resorts World and Venetian and Palazzo, as well as working for the likes of Mandarin Oriental and Kempinski in cities such as Washington DC, New York, London, Berlin, and Munich.
