The project is located in a 334 km2 area situated approximately 40 km southwest of Riyadh (50 minutes by car from King Khalid International Airport) and measuring on average 16 km wide by 20 km long.
The terrain features multiple highlands, distinguishing it from neighboring areas. Of the total land area, approximately 180 km2 is mountainous at varying elevations ranging from 800 meters to 950 meters above sea level with a terrain characterized by canyons, hills, wadis, and rock formations. The balance 155 km2 land area is much more leveled with shallow wadis and low lying hills and overall terrain elevations range from 600 meters to 700 meters above sea level.

The project involves the translation of the programmatic and economic vision into a design and development concept masterplan for Project Edge, “The Kingdom’s iconic entertainment destination; home of activity, discovery & engagement”. Edge’s ecosystem revolves around attracting its two target segments, visitors and “second home residents”, with five key offerings: Entertainment, Retail, Residential, Hospitality, and Natural Setting.
