This revolutionary 170-kilometer-long city reached 20% completion this June of 2023. 'The Line' is a city without cars, zero carbon emissions, clean energy, and artificial intelligence. The Hidden Marina, the first city district, will open in 2030. The project team is building strong transportation networks, efficient utilities, and meticulous urban planning.

The Hidden Marina's excavation will peak in weeks, resulting in the world's largest piling operation. An integrated control center (ICC) adheres to the highest industry standards, ensuring efficiency and transparency of operations.

Saudi Arabia's megaproject Neom is seeking to raise 10 billion riyals ($2.7bn) in loans, according to a report in Bloomberg published on Monday. The early stages of the $500bn planned city will be financed by money raised from local lenders, according to sources familiar with the matter who spoke to Bloomberg. Banks are currently in negotiations with Neom, and the loan could be completed in the next few months.

The company is also planning to raise a further 3 billion riyals ($800m) from local banks for the development of Shushah Island, the reports said. The island is planned as a luxury destination which Neom says will host the world's largest coral garden.

  7. Update to The Spine infrastructure corridor.

Neom have made updates to the construction plans for its infrastructure corridor, The Spine, which runs alongside The Line, including:
    1) The length of tunnelling has been reduced by 37 kilometers,
    2) The number of stations has decreased from 48 to 9
    3) The freight rail will share infrastructure with the high-speed rail.

Neom has reduced the scope of work for upcoming construction contracts on the infrastructure corridor alongside The Line as it prioritises the delivery of certain elements of the 170-kilometre-long project.

Firms working on the infrastructure corridor, which is known as The Spine, have been informed that the length of tunnelling has been reduced by 37 kilometres (km), the number of stations to be developed has been reduced to nine from 48, and the freight rail will share the same infrastructure as the high-speed rail.

The commuter line, known as the Group Mass Transit, will be completed later

  8. Hi all, this is the terrain cross-section profile along the full planned 170km project.
It runs from sea level on westernmost tip through to mountains up to 1000m high plateau (where there are already visible earthworks: https://soar.earth/maps/15035?) ending on the 1300m mountains in the easternmost tip (https://soar.earth/maps/13617).
Considering the project states the building will be 500m high, how do you think it will be actually constructed on the terrain profile? Thanks

One of the world’s largest ever renewable power projects and a global pioneer in green hydrogen mega-production – Saudi Arabia’s Neom – announced financial close on a project that will cost of $8.4bn.
Neom Green Hydrogen Company (NGHC) – a joint venture between ACWA Power, Air Products and the vast Saudi Neom future city project – plan to deploy 4GW of wind, solar and batteries to produce up to 600 tonnes a day of green ammonia using more than 2GW of hydrogen electrolysis.

The JV said today (Monday) that it had reached financial close on the project after signing agreements with “23 local, regional, and international banks, and investment firms” covering $6.1bn of non-recourse finance, becoming the world’s first giga-scale H2 initiative to reach FID.
