If your only experience of EXPO is Dubai then you may not be particularly impressed, Dubai was really one of a kind!

The Spanish Pavilion at Expo Osaka 2025 to be Designed by Enorme Studio, Néstor Montenegro, and Smart and Green Design

The new pavilion is named "The Kuroshio Current," paying homage to one of the "secrets" of Spanish navigation, whose existence has endured throughout the centuries.
The proposal for the design of the Spanish Pavilion at Expo Osaka 2025 has been selected by the Board of Directors of AC/E (Spanish Cultural Action), following the recommendation of a jury presided over by Juan Luis Gordo and composed of 10 experts.

Concerns have been raised over whether organizers of the 2025 Osaka Expo will be able to meet deadlines following reports they have already requested the central government lift a new cap on the overtime hours of construction workers.
According to The Japan Times, there are mounting concerns around whether the dedicated pavilions for foreign nations taking part in the expo will be ready by the scheduled opening on 13 April 2025. Osaka officials have denied the expo itself could be postponed.

Many foreign exhibitors had delayed decisions on whether to take part in Osaka, while local construction firms have reportedly showed reluctance in accepting individual contracts from participating nations due to the COVID-19 pandemic and Russia-Ukraine war pushing up the cost of materials.

OSAKA – South Korea has become the first foreign country to submit a basic plan for building its own pavilion at the 2025 Osaka Expo, a source familiar with the matter said Saturday, amid concerns about the slow progress being made on pavilions by foreign nations.

It is expected some 50 countries will build their own pavilions for the expo, but the city of Osaka had not received a basic design plan from any participating country, a requirement before seeking construction permission, until it received South Korea's on Friday. The ability of participating countries to design and build their own pavilions is supposed to be one of the event's key attractions, but a shortage of construction workers and the prospect of various unique designs and installations have made domestic construction companies reluctant to sign contracts.
Under the current plan, participating countries are supposed to complete the bulk of the construction for their Type A pavilions by July 2024, finalize work on their interiors by January next year and have their planned exhibits completed later in March. The expo begins on April 13, 2025, but concerns are growing that the pavilions for overseas participants may not be built in time for the opening.

  10. Have they started construction yet?
