  1. If you stay at Rove Hotel, they will allow you to walk around the site. You should ask first if you want to do so.

  2. Awww, that hurts so much to see my favorite world expo being torn down that way!

This is how the entrance of Dubai Expo 2020 looks now!

They began to demolish the pavilions of the Republic of Korea, Belgium, France and the United Kingdom.

Here is a closer look at the Republic of Korea Pavilion.

    This is Belgium.

    France.

And here is the United Kingdom Pavilion being demolished.

  4. Hey guys, unfortunately, there is no way for us to go inside and see how’s the deconstruction been doing As of now, the only thing we can enjoy is this inspiring board, see you soon

  5. How does it look like there today?

Any photos of the demolition works?

Now that Expo 2020 is over, work is being done to create District 2020.

Dubai is getting ready to welcome District 2020, a ‘smart city’ that will take shape in and around the Expo venue – and in no time emerge as the next big thing when it comes to choosing an office, a home, or a retail space.

Dismantling of all non-legacy structures at Expo site will be done in 3-6 months.

Expo 2020 has achieved 20 million visits to date!

Almost 70 per cent of visits came from the UAE. Latest figures show that children under the age of 18 have visited more than 2.8 million times.

  9. Even after Expo 2020 Dubai ends in March 2022, the Worlds Fair site will live on as a vibrant business district after the mega event. Once the event finishes, the smart city remains and gets taken over by DISTRICT 2020. District 2020 has estimated a population of about 145,000 people will visit, live and work at the hub over the next 25 years.

Here are a few snapshot of features that will remain when the Expo site becomes District 2020. Dubai's newest residential and business zone.

    1. Al Wasl Centrepiece- Historical name for Dubai which means "connection" in English.

    2. Terra- (The Sustainability Science Pavilion)

    3- Alif- (The Mobility Pavilion)

    4. UAE Pavilion (Falcon Theme Park)

    5.Kingdom of Saudi Arabia

    6. Gravity- defying water illusion

    7. Garden in the Sky

    8. Exhibition Centre

    9. The Firdaus recording Studio

    10. Bike trails in 15-minute community

Last but not the least The Rove is one of the two hotels on the 438 hectare site, overlooking Al Wasl Plaza, it will remain as a permanent offering.

District 2020 had already attracted some of the worlds leading industrial, tech and logistic giants to invest including Siemens, Terminus and DP world.

  10. To my friends and partners who haven't visited Dubai Expo 2020 yet, do it! It's fantastic. Doubtlessly the world's best temporary theme park! Congratulations to all the geniuses involved in this magnetic masterpiece.

It took me 8 days to visit all the pavilions, so if you have only a day or two, here are my recommendations. I sorted them not by the size of their budget, but by the size of their spirit:

    Syria
    Israel
    Saudi Arabia
    Terra Pavilion
    USA
    Spain
    Pakistan
    Japan
    El Salvador
    Mexico
    Gabon
    Portugal
    Brazil
    South Sudan
    Yemen
    Holy See
    Muslim World League
    African Union
    Iraq
    Turkmenistan
    Suriname
    Ethiopia
    Cambodia
    Jamaica
    Bahrain (for the food)

You need to book Japan in advance through the expo app, and you only have about 3 minutes between 9am and 9:03am to do so, or else the slots are gone for that day. With Japan's borders closed since March 2020, the adjacent sushi restaurant is the world's only accessible truly authentic outlet — come between 10am-11am and you won't face a queue. Food in the Bahrain and Denmark pavilions is excellent, too. The worst exhibit is Libya's, even the staff wants to get out of that space. Come early, at around 9:30am, and avoid Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at all costs.
