  1. IHG Hotels & Resorts, one of the world’s leading hotel companies, is significantly expanding its UAE presence through a strategic partnership with Aldar, the country’s leading real estate developer, investor, and manager.

Through this landmark collaboration, IHG and Aldar will undertake a major repositioning project on Yas Island to transform six hotels within the Yas Plaza complex into a single integrated Vignette Collection resort. The franchise agreement involves the refurbishment and conversion of the current hotels into distinct properties within the newly named Straylight Yas, Vignette Collection. A key element of the project is to open private beach access to the complex for the first time.

The ultimate transformation will add 1,389 keys to IHG’s expanding UAE portfolio. The single operator model is designed to streamline and consolidate the property’s reputation as a premier integrated resort destination that provides diverse experiences under one unified identity.

Miral announced the development of two beaches at Yas Bay Waterfront. Complementing the existing lifestyle and leisure offerings at the destination, the beaches will span a length of 280 meters.

Located on the west side of the pier, the West Beach has been designed as a family destination and will feature beachside play areas for children, dining outlets, food trucks, pedestrian walkways, as well as rest and recreation facilities. East Beach, located on the east side of the pier and across Etihad Arena, will feature outdoor fitness spaces and sports zones for beach football and volleyball.

Jonathan Brown, Chief Portfolio Officer, Miral, said: “We are pleased to enhance our leisure and lifestyle offerings at Yas Bay Waterfront with the announcement of two beach developments. These upcoming experiences are an extension of our vision to enrich the diverse and unique experiences available to visitors on Yas Island, positioning it as a top global destination for leisure and entertainment while further contributing to Abu Dhabi’s wider tourism growth.”

The beaches will serve as an addition to leisure and lifestyle experiences at Yas Bay Waterfront, home to over 20 al fresco restaurants and cafés, a floating beach club, a concert arena, luxury hotels and an expansive promenade.

Located in Abu Dhabi directly opposite the Yas Marina Island hotel. The site was awkwardly shaped and called for innovation and aesthetic prowess given its exposure. Brodway Malyan were appointed by Aldar to deliver a building with the main drivers being cost and efficiency as well as artistic application. Working on this project my main objectives were to work directly under the lead architect in designing this building. I had an extremely big part in the design of this building and modelled countless design options for all facets of the project. I would piece together design packages and liaise with the client and sub contractors in order to progress the design. The project is on going and looks to be a flagship Aldar building - the same team requested by Aldar for continued work.

  6. Chances are zero that a Disney park would be squeezed in the lot above SeaWorld.

There are two more plots left in the Theme Park District. One to the left of WB and one right above SeaWorld.
If Disney is coming, it could be the one above SeaWorld cause that is a bigger plot

Aldar Properties, in partnership with Diamond Developers, has launched The Sustainable City – Yas Island, a sustainability-centric community offering a new way of life for Abu Dhabi residents.
With a strong focus on enabling an active community, The Sustainably City – Yas Island will also be home to a range of communal facilities and amenities, including an equestrian centre with stables, a track and two arenas, a gym and multiple pools, cycling and jogging tracks, football, basketball and padel courts, retail and F&B outlets, and more. Within this low-emissions community, a network of communal battery-charged buggies and bicycles will be available so that residents and visitors can move around while their cars remain parked on the outer edge of the development.
In the first phase of the project, 272 condominiums and 240 townhouses will be released for public sale on 19 January. Condominiums are available in one-, two-, and three-bedroom formats, with the average price for a one-bed standing at $243k. Three- and four-bedroom townhouses at the development are also available with the average price of a three-bed standing at $882.8k.
