Feilden Clegg Bradley Studios (FCBS) has released new visualisations of a proposed visitor attraction on Dundee's waterfront for The Eden Project. The latest proposals for the ‘international-scale’ scheme, which will sit on the former Dundee Gasworks in East Dock Street, were unveiled yesterday (1 August) ahead of a planning application in the autumn.
FCBS’s designs – now out to public consultation following a Proposal of Application Notice – involve the creation of different spaces for exhibits, performances, learning, play, and art across the site. Facilities for immersive experiences, horticulture, live music, and food and beverage facilities also form a part of the latest plans.
‘We have taken a regenerative approach to the design that will start to restore the site, an approach which will restore biodiversity to the site, reusing materials to create an immersive pedagogic facility. ‘We are looking forward to listening to more to people in Dundee during the upcoming consultation, to inform the design development.’

Members of the public can attend drop-in sessions on 16 August and 13 September before the final designs are submitted to Dundee City Council in the autumn.

New Bradenton, Florida, USA convention center hotel will be a resort ‘destination.’
When the eight-story, 252-room Marriott opens next door to the Bradenton Area Convention Center in early 2024, it will be more than a hotel. It will be at the heart of a new destination. Planned for the property is 10,000-square-feet of retail space, facing an amphitheater with stage that can accommodate 5,500 people, plus another retail space totaling 7,500 square feet.
10,000 square feet of meeting space, a 50,000-gallon swimming pool and a recording studio, for possible special event coverage. Several years in the future, there could be a second hotel on the property, this one planned for 121 rooms. Although it won’t be opened at the same time as the Marriott Palmetto, a multi-million dollar private beach club for hotel guests is planned across the street at the Riviera Dunes property, including a golf putting course, a restaurant, bocce ball and pickleball.

Hard Rock Hotel Algarve to Arrive in Portugal in 2026. The upcoming project in Portugal will be opening in the summer of 2026 and create 400 jobs in the area throughout the construction process.

The new project, Hard Rock Hotel Algarve, is the latest European expansion for the company, which is determined to scale its global presence in the land-based and resort sectors. The hotel has no planned casino, although this is probably not completely out of the question as Hard Rock is operating some of the biggest and most worthwhile gaming resorts worldwide.

AN ‘extensive’ consultation period is set to commence ahead of a planning application being submitted in August for the creation of Eden Project Dundee. The consultation is being presented as an opportunity for the city of Dundee to help shape the planning application and act as a co-creator of the ‘landmark’ development.

Work would include the conversion of the existing gasholder at East Dock Street, demolition of other buildings on the site, and the construction of a pedestrian bridge.
Darren Hoare, the Eden Project’s head of programme delivery, said, “We are hugely excited to be embarking on a new phase of development for Eden Project Dundee with the preparation and submission of our scheme’s planning application.

The new Evermore Resort, coming soon near the Walt Disney World Resort, has reached a new milestone during its construction, topping off a new man-made inland lagoon that will serve as their signature water feature.

It completed a process which started nine weeks ago, lasted 38 days, totaling more than 17 million gallons of water filled at 1,050 gallons per minute. The lagoon is 12 feet at its deepest point and 8 feet deep at the center.

Silent Yachts is not-so-quietly expanding into high-end hospitality. The Austrian yard, known for producing innovative solar-electric catamarans, just announced it is building a new emissions-free luxury resort in Fiji. The news comes less than a year after Silent revealed its first solar-powered marina and residences in the Bahamas.

Located on a private island in the Fijian archipelago, the second Silent Resort includes an array of eco-conscious beachfront residences and an impressive fleet of zero-emission vessels, naturally.

Nestled amid the rugged jungle and sandy beaches will be 28 Silent Estate Residences with either four, five, or six bedrooms, as well as 14 two-bedroom Silent Marina Residences and 10 two-bedroom Silent Beach Club Residences. Each abode is managed by Silent and comes with a number of other perks, too.
Owners will have exclusive access to a number of Silent’s solar-electric tenders, speedboats, and catamarans on which they can sail the stunning coral reef. Seafarers can also make use of Fiji’s first solar-powered Silent Marina, which is dedicated solely to electric yachts.
Construction is set to begin on Silent Resort Fiji’s marina and beach club by the end of 2023. Work on the Bahamas location is progressing rapidly and is expected to be fully completed by early 2024.
