NEOM and it’s Sindalah, as surreal and controversial the whole project is, it is happening.
The first guests are to be welcome on the island at the beginning of 2024.

It will be the first of ten completed regions of the megacity of NEOM in northwestern Saudi Arabia. Sindalah is well located for European boat owners and accessible via the Suez Canal.

Soon enough we will find out if it will become the new favorite yachting or golfing destination.

Work in Saudi Arabia’s futuristic city of NEOM is steady and on the right track where 20 percent of the project’s infrastructure has been completed, NEOM’s CEO Nadhmi al-Nasr told Al Arabiya on Thursday.

“I can say that we have finished what amounts to 20 percent of [NEOM’s] infrastructure and work is ongoing in 2023,” al-Nasr told Al Arabiya on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos. “The most important thing is being able to expand the infrastructure to all areas where we are ready to start building.”
As a main gateway to the Red Sea, Sindalah Island is expected to be the first project to open and to welcome visitors starting early 2024, NEOM CEO said.

There will be three hotels in total. Sindalah will provide 333 luxury serviced apartments and 413 ultra-premium hotel rooms. There will also be 51 upscale shopping centers. By giving golfers access to a top-notch 6,474-yard (5,920-meter) par 70 courses, the appeal of Sindalah as a destination for golf vacations is also projected to rise. With its 18 tees, the golf course provides two nine-hole experiences.
“Sindalah will be NEOM’s first luxury island and yacht club destination in the Red Sea, providing a scenic gateway to the Red Sea that will become the region’s most exciting and attractive tourism location. It will be a destination where travelers can experience the true beauty of NEOM and Saudi Arabia, above and below the water, making Sindalah the future of luxury travel.”

His Royal Highness Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince, Prime Minister and Chairman of the NEOM Company Board of Directors, has announced the development of Sindalah, the first luxury island destination in NEOM and one of the most important projects supporting Saudi Arabia’s national tourism strategy.

A main gateway to the Red Sea offering bespoke nautical experiences, Sindalah is expected to start welcoming guests to enjoy its exquisite facilities and exclusive offerings from early 2024. It is anticipated that the development will create 3,500 jobs for the tourism sector and hospitality and leisure services.

Extending over an area of approximately 840,000 square meters, Sindalah, is one of a group of islands that will be developed in NEOM, each according to its unique vision and design.
