Rainforest Wild Adventure is getting bigger, with the new EAST zone soft opening on 20 May! A grand celebration for the full park follows later this month, so stay tuned.

Asia's first adventure-based wildlife park — formerly Rainforest Wild Asia and Rainforest Wild Africa — now spans two locations connected by a free shuttle and sheltered walkway.

Rainforest Wild Adventure EAST adds five Adventure+ activities to the park, bringing the total to nine across both zones, including the Canopy Glider where you soar above the tree canopy and Treetop Traverse, a 125-metre harnessed course through the treetops. Keep an eye out for our charming new resident, the okapi, making its Southeast Asia debut right here. As with all naturalistic habitats, animal activity varies, so come with a sense of adventure and discovery!

Visitors to Singapore can now wake up in the treetops to the sounds of nature at the newly opened Mandai Rainforest Resort by Banyan Tree.

The resort’s 338 rooms officially opened for guests on Wednesday (April 2), among them, 24 seed pod-inspired treehouse rooms incorporating a living area and enclosed patio. There are 73 family rooms offering a king-bed bunk bed with a play nook underneath.

The new year brings new things to do and new places to explore as a new boardwalk opens at the Mandai Wildlife Reserve on 14 January 2025, offering the public breathtaking views of the Upper Seletar Reservoir and the Central Catchment Nature Reserve.

The meandering 3.3km Mandai Boardwalk skirts the perimeter of River Wonders and Singapore Zoo and provides visitors with a peaceful space to observe local wildlife along the edge of the Reservoir, and to catch glimpses of some of the animals being cared for inside the Singapore Zoo.

The boardwalk is free to enter daily from 7am to 7pm during day light hours. This public amenity is available outside of the ticketed wildlife parks and has been designed with wheelchair-friendly walkways which also accommodate visitors of all abilities and ages.

Mandai Rainforest Resort to open in April 2025

Operated by luxury hotel chain Banyan Tree, the 338-room resort aims to blend architecture with nature, Mandai Wildlife Group said on Dec 18.

For one thing, it has been designed around mature trees on its 4.6ha site. Flanking the entrance will be a rain tree and an Indian beech tree, both retained in their original locations.

To be certified as super low energy, buildings have to demonstrate energy savings of at least 60 per cent from a 2005 benchmark.

The resort will also house a 300-seater ballroom, the Banyan Tree Spa, meeting rooms, a gym and a rooftop pool.

Resort guests will have access to exclusive wildlife experiences, such as early morning visits to Bird Paradise and an immersive guided tour for children at the Singapore Zoo. They can also get special rates on park entry and programmes.

The support columns for the Madagascar walk-through habitat (named "Lemur Land" in development plans) being erected. The design of the habitat will be the same as the aviaries at Bird Paradise - tall columns holding up the stainless steel netting. The habitat looks to be about 1 hectare in size based on plans. The African half of Rainforest Wild is expected to open in 2025. The Asian half could be open by the end of this year.
