Construction drawings reveal details of Efteling Grand Hotel

This month, Efteling has applied for an environmental permit for the new Efteling Grand Hotel, which should open in 2024. Looopings received the detailed construction drawings for the 50 million euro complex. It shows all kinds of details that have not been shared with the public before, for example the rear facade and the precise layout of the majestic building.

The exact location is visible on one of the building plans: on the entrance square between the parking lot and the Vonderplas, before the railway crossing. That is at the current location of La Place restaurant De Vrolijke Noot.

Almost all of the old buildings and facilities on Dwarrelplein - the square behind the Efteling entrance House of the Five Senses - have been moved or demolished.

Efteling plans to start work on the foundations for the Efteling Grand Hotel after the summer, a 106-metre wide hotel complex with seven floors, 143 rooms, two restaurants, two souvenir shops, a spa and a swimming pool. Hotel guests will soon look out over the Fairytale Forest and Aquanura. In total, the project will cost 50 million euros.

Eftelings new service building in the parking lot

Due to the arrival of the Efteling Grand Hotel, that building was demolished. The dog kennel did not return. In recent months, all other facilities have been temporarily housed in the entrance building of the House of the Five Senses. Now there is permanent replacement accommodation in the parking lot. The construction site for the hotel is behind it.

In the meantime, almost all old buildings and facilities on Dwarrelplein - the square behind the Efteling entrance House of the Five Senses - have been moved or demolished. Last month, La Place restaurant De Vrolijke Noot and an ATM in the form of a safe were already removed .

This week the building that previously housed the cloakroom and dog kennel disappeared. The cloakroom has temporarily moved to the House of the Five Senses, pending the realization of a new facilities building in the parking lot. A little further on is a relocated toilet block. The dog kennel does not return after 66 years .
