Efteling aims to be climate neutrality by 2030 and climate positive by 2032. Another step to this process is the installation of a further 12,000 solar panels to the park.
Construction is set to commence in May and is expected to be in operation by September of this year. The solar area will cover 29,200 m² big, equivalent to six football fields. Efteling will be able to generate almost 35% of its electricity each year.

To respect the area, the soil that has been removed from the construction sites of Efteling Grand Hotel and the new Huyverwoud-themed area will be used to plant these trees.
