From that picture (Correct me if I'm wrong) it looks like this airport concept is east of the mountains it is supposed to go through, so it is near the end. I don't know why they wouldn't just terminate it right before it, but being that this picture is just a very vague airport concept from more than a year ago, and that consultancy only lasted a year 2023-2024. I'd say the picture doesn't mean much.

Working on the world's largest piling operation and getting up close really shows the monumental scale of what we are doing. We are currently operating many of the world's largest piling rigs and installing large 2.5m diameter , 70m long friction piles weighing 850 tones with over 16 000 piles installed in phase 1 on THE LINE.

The project focuses on the concept of mobility within the larger project of “The Line.” It involves defining the strategy for the mobility network, infrastructure and services designed to efficiently accommodate both people and logistics. The proposal will be supported by detailed mobility demand estimates considering the three dimensions and will propose technologies based on an in-depth analysis.

Piling work has almost been completed on a marina section of the Line – Neom’s 170km long futuristic linear city that will extend from Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea coast inland.
