In February 2026, Anwar Gargash, diplomatic advisor to the UAE president, revealed on X that the project is “nearing completion” with its opening anticipated for 2026.A resplendent architectural masterpiece, Guggenheim Abu Dhabi was designed by Pritzker-prize-winning architect Frank Gehry.
For the project, Gehry drew inspiration from the surrounding landscape. For instance, the asymmetric cones on the exterior of the museum were inspired by the UAE’s traditional wind towers. These cones will act as entrances to the museum and exterior exhibition spaces.
