During her time there, she has been credited with revolutionizing the art collection by paying special focus on contemporary artists coming from diverse walks of life. She also started the first residency program for artists at Gropius Bau. Prior to this, Stephanie Rosenthal was the chief curator at the Hayward Gallery, London for 10 years.
Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed met with globally renowned architect Frank Gehry and senior leadership from DCT Abu Dhabi and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation and visited the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi museum site on Saadiyat Island.
What we know about the world's largest Guggenheim Museum so far:
1. The landmark project is being developed on Saadiyat Island by DCT Abu Dhabi in collaboration with the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation.
2. It seems that the new opening date for the museum is 2025, and will rise with the new cultural district of the city, which also hosts or will host works by Jean Nouvel, Norman Foster, Zaha Hadid, and Tadao Ando.
3. At 42,000-square meters, the museum will become the largest of the four Guggenheim outposts, overtaking Guggenheim Bilbao that Gehry also designed.
