The Red Sea Wellness Resort is a cluster of wellness facilities nestled in a cove along the beautiful, pristine landscape of the Red Sea. Done in collaboration with HKS Architects and Coco hospitality, SRLA led the landscape design and worked on the masterplan.
The brief for this project was to design the exemplar wellness development, a high-end resort where wellness meets luxury, that preserves the rich and beautiful natural landscape of the red sea coastline.
The Red Sea natural landscape is rich in natural beauty, with interesting rock formations, and beautiful beaches. To design the resort, SRLA pioneered new approaches to sensitive master-planning, personally visiting the site with a team and meticulously recording all-natural features. With this approach, the natural landscape guided the development, so that each individual building is optimally positioned to harmoniously coexist and preserve its environment.
The natural landscape also informed the design with biomimicry and natural patterns of choral formation guiding the aesthetics to create a truly unique and harmonious experience. SRLA also used extensive horticultural knowledge to advise on plants that could be used in medicinal gardens and to develop plan palettes, which account for the irrigation and climatic challenges presented by the site.
