Dublin-based daa International, a leading global airports and travel retail group, will be the operator for the Red Sea International (RSI), the airport coming up at the ambitious The Red Sea and AMAALA tourism projects in Saudi Arabia, the project’s operating company said.The project is on track to welcome its first passengers in 2023, with capabilities to serve an estimated one million domestic and international tourists per year by 2030 – at a peak of 900 travelers per hour.

Miraval The Red Sea will bring 180 keys to the Red Sea Project and is slated to be the site’s wellness-focused hotel, complete with the largest spa of any hotel planned for the area. The Life is Balance Spa will be approximately 3,700 sq m, comprising 39 treatment rooms. Miraval is the operator’s wellness brand, with only three other hotels globally at the time of writing.
Miraval The Red Sea will also feature approximately 400 sq m of meeting space for wellness-focused, experiential activities tailored to improving connections and communication for social and corporate groups.

The incredibly ambitious Red Sea Project is part of an ongoing effort to transform Saudi Arabia into a world-leading tourist destination and has resulted in plans for luxury resorts and an airport. Now Foster + Partners has revealed work is underway on an eye-catching marine center that will be shaped like coral and feature interactive exhibits, including an artificial coral reef.The project, named the Marine Life Institute, also involves HKS Architects and will be located on the Red Sea coast. Its exterior will be made up of glass-reinforced concrete panels that will be molded and textured to resemble local coral reef patterns, with a structural steel frame supporting it.
