President Prabowo Subianto has approved new designs for the IKN legislative and judicial district, envisioned as Indonesia’s new strategic decision-making hub with a strong, monumental character, targeting completion by end-2027 or Q1 2028.
OIKN Head Basuki Hadimuljono highlighted presidential emphasis on bold, upright architecture reflecting national authority, refined in early 2026 post-contracts (late 2025) and benchmarked against Turkey, India, and Egypt for functionality and identity.
MPR Chair Ahmad Muzani praised the elevated site’s comfort and grandeur during a site visit, noting tangible progress like the airport, VP Palace, and State Mosque already standing. This approval marks a key step toward modern governance by 2028.
