  2. The Japan World Expo 2025 Association plans to deploy next-generation mobility services as well as a virtual exposition in a metaverse where people may participate via avatars. The sixth-generation network should be able to accommodate such services.

According to Nikkei, Nippon Telegraph & Telephone is planning to create a trial 6G network to serve the 2025 World Expo site in Osaka. Indeed, intentions are to commercialize the technology by the end of the decade. NTT West President Mitsuyoshi Kobayashi told Nikkei in a recent interview that the group has already started designing the network’s fundamental infrastructure. Details will be finalized in April, when the fiscal year begins.

The developement plan for Yumeshima shows the resort plans and also the industrial areas of the island.

Yumeshima is already in operation on the eastern bank as a container terminal, high-standard logistic hub. Along the western bank is a waste processing site, which is located a substantial "megasolar" power plant. The City of Osaka along with the Kansai Business Community and Osaka Prefecture Government drew up a "Yumeshima Development Plan" in August 2017 and has been working to make Yumeshima as a new global tourism hub.

Yumeshima is the proposed venue for EXPO 2025 OSAKA, KANSAI, JAPAN, which is expected to contribute the economic growth and the regional development as well as introducing the attractiveness of Osaka, Kansai region to the world.
    ?Scheduled?184 days from April 13 to October 13, 2025
?Theme?Designing Future Society for Our Lives
    ?Projected visitors?Approx. 28.2 million

Expo 2025 Osaka Kansai Japan will take place from April 13 to October 13, 2025. The event will take place under the banner of Designing Future Society for Our Lives, aiming to be a laboratory for future society and a place where the world’s knowledge will be brought together and shared to help resolve global issues.
Osaka’s Yumeshima island will host Expo 2025, with organisers expecting 28.2 million visitors during its six-month opening. More than 150 countries and 25 organisations are also expected to participate. The host region, Kansai, is located in the west of Japan’s main island of Honshu, and holds many attractions for visitors.
Those coming to Osaka in the next few years will have plenty to look forward to in terms of accommodation, with the opening of new luxury hotels including Four Seasons Hotel Osaka in 2024 and the Waldorf Astoria Osaka opening in 2025.

The full plan for the area hasn't released yet but Dubai was estimated at approx 425 hectares and Yumeshima Island (where the Japan Expo will be held) is approximately 390 hectates but Yumeshima will be holding a number of other attractions - such as the MGM hotel also featured on ResortX - so it's likely to be a much smaller footprint.

That being said Milan in 2015 was around 200 hectares and the 2010 Expo in Shanghai was the biggest to date at 523 hectares so they are very varied.
