However, some locals express reservations, fearing that the expansive Gaylord Pacific Resort might overshadow the quaint charm of the Chula Vista marina. Concerns also arise about its potential to become just another underwhelming real estate endeavour, reminiscent of the Sesame Place, especially given the substantial $275 million public bond allocated for the project.

Rest assured, these fears are unfounded. The resort, spanning a vast 2 million square feet and encompassing hotels, bars, restaurants, and recreational zones, is poised to be a significant employment hub, ensuring the public investment sees tangible returns.

Moreover, the Gaylord Pacific Resort isn't just about luxury accommodations. It's set to breathe new life into the Chula Vista Bayfront, introducing over 200 acres of parks, open spaces, walking trails, RV campsites, retail outlets, eateries, and a picturesque shoreline promenade.
