Good question. The current casino is referred to by a few different names as well: Regency Casino, Mont Parnes Casino, and Parnithia Casino. I would assume that eventually they will settle on just “VORIA.”

What will the final name of the casino be? I’ve seen it referred to as “Project VORIA,” “VORIA by Regency,” and “VORIA Casino.”

I honestly don’t understand how VORIA is supposed to compete with Hard Rock Ellinikon. For starters, the Hard Rock casino is opening in 2027, while the VORIA project won’t even be completed until 2028. And the location in Maroussi seems like a huge issue. It’s right next to a major hospital and two big malls, so the area is already packed with traffic all the time. I can’t really imagine people wanting to deal with all that congestion just to get there.

Looks like they’re going to tackle the traffic issue too, it’s part of the project.

North Star Entertainment's investment in Maroussi, which is expected to exceed 380 million euros, is progressing rapidly, creating one of the most important residential, leisure and entertainment hubs in the northern suburbs and the entire Attica basin.

The height of the complex (21 meters) is lower than the surrounding buildings. At the same time, of the 52 acres of land, 25 acres are granted to the Municipality of Maroussi for public uses, while another 17 acres will concern public green spaces. In total, approximately 30,000 sq m. will concern open spaces.

It is also considered important that significant traffic interventions have been planned, financed by the investment body, in order to improve the flow of traffic on Kifissias and Sp. Louis Avenues and the adjacent streets, in order to avoid burdening both residents and passing drivers. For this purpose, 3.5 acres of land are being allocated, in order to create the required space.

At the "heart" of Project Voria will be the hospitality and entertainment infrastructure, with a 5-star hotel, a multitude of entertainment and dining options, venues for cultural events and a casino, which are expected to give further impetus to the tourist product of Athens. According to what has been announced, the hotel will have a capacity of 170 rooms and suites and will operate under the MGallery brand of the Accor group. The hotel will be flanked by a state-of-the-art 2,000 sq m spa, dining and recreation areas, meeting points, indoor and outdoor swimming pools.
