A Chinese investment firm has signed a $194 million deal to build a casino complex in Russia’s Primorye Gambling Zone, located in Primorsky Krai.

The Russian news agency Interfax and the media outlet ASN Info reported that the investor will spend 16 billion rubles on the project. The complex will house a hotel, a casino, and other non-gambling facilities.

The investor was named in the reports as Jiangsu Xiuyuntong Investment. The firm is involved in venture capital-related operations and hails from Jiangsu, a coastal province in Eastern China.

The Russian and Chinese parties struck the agreement on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum. The forum is an annual investment summit that focuses on the Russian Far East.

The parties stated that they will undertake the project in two phases. It will ultimately result in the construction of a 37,000-square-meter complex. The hotel will feature at least 150 guest rooms, they added.

The corporation did not reveal any details about the timeframe the parties were working toward.
