A waterfront neighbourhood has been unveiled at the Dh10 billion ($2.72bn) Jubail Island project in Abu Dhabi, amid growing demand for new units. Ain Al Maha village, scheduled to be completed in the first quarter of 2025, will include 240 villas built alongside a water channel, with views of the sea and mangroves.
The wider Jubail Island development, located between Saadiyat Island and Yas Island, will have six residential village estates covering more than 400 hectares and is expected to be home to 10,000 residents within four years. Building heights at Jubail Island will be strictly controlled, with no villa exceeding 15 metres.

Ninety-five per cent of the infrastructure works at Jubail Island are completed while 40 per cent of the villas are still under construction, JIIC said.

Nestled between Yas and Saadiyat, Jubail Island is already one of Abu Dhabi’s most idyllic islands, thanks to its lush, stretching mangroves. But in a new update, developer Jubail Island Investment Company (JIIC) has also unveiled plans for a beating heart for the new local community, the stunning Jubail Marina.

On track for completion by mid-2023, Jubail Marina will form part of the Marina District, and will feature 66 berths for visitors and residents to set sail for Jubail as and when they please. This stunning seafront community project will also feature a luxury yacht club, scenic boardwalk and a collection of restaurants and cafes that will make the most of the gorgeous alfresco setting. That sounds like a true haven for boating enthusiasts.

The bridge plays an important role in providing easy, direct access to Jubail Island as well as proximity to public parks, open spaces and cycling tracks. It will also link different villages within the island to each other as well as facilitating movement between the two sides of the island, where the Jubail Mangrove Park, Jubail Pura Eco Retreat and the marine activities are located, and the rest of the existing developments that lie in the island.

The bridge stands 140 metres long and serves as the main entrance to the island, helping facilitate movement in and out of the island. Visitors will now be able to access the island directly from Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan highway (E12) through taking Exit 17. The construction of the bridge commenced on August 25, 2021.
