Set for completion in late 2025, the Gran Meliá Lombok is a high-end luxury destination featuring sustainable design and locally sourced materials.

Sprawled across 120,000 sqm and set at the foot of a stepped hillside.

Leading up to 105 private residences, the resort itself features 22 units of two-storey bamboo villas, each with a private swimming pool and direct contact with nature through local materials, lush surroundings, and efficient use of space and light.

The hotel will boast 20+ luxury beachside villas and another 100+ villas on the mountainside, all with private infinity pools and stunning ocean views. Careful attention will be paid to the architectural design, utilising natural elements that represent the essence of the destination. Today, the development of the Gran Melia resort, situated in Torok Bay, is in its active stage. In December 2022 the Invest Islands posted a monthly video update showing that some properties, like the Inspiral eco-luxury villas, are rising from the ground, and the facades are already starting to look like their 3D-models. Sticking to the idea of luxury meeting eco concept, the roof of the villas apparently will be made of bamboo pelupuh. When it finishes in 2024, Gran Meliá Lombok will feature a YHI spa, a Yoshi Izakaya restaurant, a fitness centre, and a kids’ club, among others. Lombok’s prospects energise Brown, who attributes his entrepreneurial spirit to his great-grandfather who worked in Scotland’s Harris Tweed industry. With its rising middle class, Indonesia is well placed to provide the property, only the second Gran Meliá project in the country, a dependable fount of guests.
