The first phase of Disney's next real estate development will include more than 300 homes, with a third of them designated for buyers ages 55 and older, Disney said today.
Disney also released a site map for the "first chapter" of the Cotino development (above), noting the Longtable Park Residences that will be designated for homebuyers aged 55+. Those homebuyers will have exclusive use of Cotino's Longtable Park.
Disney also released a concept image for another park in the development, Laughing Place Ranch, "designed to celebrate Walt's love for horses with an equestrian-themed dog park featuring separate play areas for small and large pets," Disney said in its press release.

The Cotino community will offer the opportunity for individuals to purchase a membership for the Artisan Club that will unlock a dazzling array of amenities infused with unique Disney and Pixar touches. Highlights include a one-of-a-kind gathering space inspired by an “incredible” location from a fan-favorite Pixar film, part of a vibrant club featuring a diverse range of leisure pursuits.
Nestled along the shoreline of the grand oasis is Parr House, a distinct location inspired by the midcentury home of the famous family of superheroes in Disney and Pixar’s “Incredibles 2.”

An update on Cotino (A Storyliving by Disney Community), December 28, 2022
Daps Magic friend Drew from Galactic Surplus was down in the area and took some photos of the project site over the holiday week. At the beginning of his trip found not a lot happening beyond keeping the area from getting too dusty. However, then some machinery arrived and work began to happen on the property. Here are the photos that Drew shared throughout the last week of the Cotino – A Storyliving by Disney Community site.

Source: https://www.disneydining.com/disneys-new-home-communities-project-releases-new-storytelling-themed-ad-and-were-not-a-bit-surprised-bb1/The one community locale we do know about it called “Cotino,” and the site chosen in Rancho Mirage, California, for said “Cotino” community was picked because of the area’s ties to Walt and Lillian Disney. But it has yet to be developed, and we didn’t know when the ground would even be broken.
Now, six months after the initial announcement, we don’t really know much more than we knew the day the announcement was made.
Plans are moving forward for Cotino, Disney’s mixed-use development in Rancho Mirage, after councilmembers unanimously supported the location of about 10% of the roughly 1,700 homes charted for the community.
The Rancho Mirage City Council approved a subdivision of the project that includes 187 single-family homes by a 4-0 vote, with councilmember Steve Downs absent, during its meeting Thursday.Source: https://eu.desertsun.com/story/news/local/rancho-mirage/2022/09/01/part-disneys-cotino-gets-rancho-mirage-city-council-approval/7941696001/The 618-acre project, also known as the Section 31 development, is slated to include a 24-acre swimmable lagoon and a resort hotel on vacant land, located off Bob Hope Drive, between Frank Sinatra and Gerald Ford drives, and across from the entrance to Sunnylands Center and Gardens.
Cotino will offer a mix of homes, including estates, single-family homes and condominiums, as well as a 55-plus community, along with a town center with shops and restaurants. All homes are planned for full-time residents.
A new ad has been released to show off the ideas behind Cotino - A Storyliving by Disney Community.
The commercial promises “charming new home communities where Disney storytelling takes on a personal style.” It adds that Disney is looking at locations across the United States to build new communities.
