I have searched extensively online but haven’t found any confirmation that this project is currently underway. If this is indeed the correct island, the Google Earth imagery hasn’t been updated since 2023, making it difficult to assess the current status. At this point, it seems the project may have stalled or possibly been abandoned.

Does anyone know the location of Al Nawras Island in Abu Dhabi? I tried searching for it on Google Maps but couldn’t find it. Is it supposed to be somewhere to the east of Yas Island? Does anyone know its exact location?

So this project has no visible signs of being built... anyone know anything? It was first meant to open in 2023 and now saying 2025 but I can find nothing at all about actual construction taking place.

Al Nawras Island set to become one of the UAE’s most luxurious island destinations, going toe-to-toe with the popular Nurai Island also in Abu Dhabi. Operated by Hilton and running its most luxurious flag LXR Collection, Al Nawras Island was first shown off last year with plans to open before the end of 2023.

In terms of facilities, there will be three swimming pools – two outdoor and one indoor, tennis and paddle courts, a kids club, two signature restaurants, two bars and a café.

PIF subsidiary SEVEN launches SR1.1 billion entertainment destination in Yanbu
The destination will be located along the seafront promenade on Al Nawras Island in Yanbu

The entertainment destination is developed on a land size of over 36,000 square metres with a built-up area of over 62,000 square metres.

Riyadh: Saudi Entertainment Ventures (SEVEN), a subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund (PIF), has awarded a contract to a joint venture (JV) between Al Bawani Co and UCC Saudi for the construction of a new entertainment destination in Yanbu.

The project, valued at over SR1.1 billion, is already in progress and is situated on Al Nawras Island’s seafront promenade. SEVEN Yanbu aims to bolster the local entertainment sector and cater to residents of Yanbu and neighboring areas of all age groups.

The facility will include a carnival-themed family entertainment center, a Clip ‘n Climb facility, a 10-screen cinema, a neon-lit 10-lane bowling alley, an indoor adventure golf course, and various retail and dining options.

Hilton to open a villa-only private island resort in Abu Dhabi.

Located on Al Nawras Island, the island retreat will boast its own golf course, marina, beach club and “elaborate spa.”

The property will be managed by Hilton under its independent collection brand LXR Hotels & Resorts. The LXR collection is highly exclusive, bringing in some of the world’s most luxurious independent and characterful properties.

Expected to open in 2023, Al Nawras Island, LXR Hotels & Resorts will mark the brand’s entry into the UAE capital. The all-villa resort will offer 80 beach and water villas as well as a 450 square-metre two-bedroom royal villa.
