The Red Sea Project will be a luxury resort destination that will be developed across a group of natural islands and steeped in nature and culture. It will set new standards for sustainable development and bring about the next generation of luxury travel, putting Saudi Arabia on the international tourism map.
the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, between the cities of Umluj and Al Wajh.
Envisioned as an exquisite luxury resort destination built on 50 unspoiled natural islands that stretch along 200 kilometers of stunning coastline, the Red Sea Project will be situated on the site of one of the world’s hidden natural treasures.
The islands form an archipelago that is home to environmentally protected coral reefs, mangroves, and several endangered marine species, including the hawksbill, a slender sea turtle. It also boasts dormant volcanoes; the most recently active has a recorded history of activity that dates back to the 17th century AD. In addition, the Red Sea Project’s nature preserve is inhabited by rare wildlife, including Arabian leopards, Arabian wolves, Arabian wildcats, and falcons.
Visitors to the Red Sea Project will enjoy plenty of sunshine, pristine white sandy beaches, and for the more adventurous, various ecological, historical, and cultural excursions, both on land and sea. The resort will offer popular activities, such as diving—the Red Sea is famous for being one of the world’s best dive sites—parachuting, trekking, and rock climbing. Tourists will also be able to take advantage of cultural visits to the Arab Heritage Museum and the Archeology Center. In addition to providing education, health care, transportation, and other services.
Visitors to the Red Sea Project will be able to engage in unique experiences that include:

    - Sunshine, White Beaches, and Cool Waters. The Red Sea Project will be built across an archipelago of 50 natural islands to offer a world-class luxury resort destination.

    - Adventure and Sport. The resort will offer a variety of sports, including scuba diving, rock climbing, trekking, and parachuting, as well as golf, tennis, and football.

    - Ecotourism. Visitors will be able to enjoy nature through various experiences, including stargazing, camping, hiking on dormant volcanoes, or observing rare animals and plants in their natural habitat.

    - Culture and Heritage. Visitors will be offered rich cultural experiences through visits to the historical sites of Al Ula and Mada’in Saleh. They will also be able to sample native cuisine and retrace ancient caravan trade routes at the Arab Heritage Museum and the Archeology Center.

    - Health and Leisure. As a center of the wellness movement and a showcase for a healthy, engaged, and vibrant society, visitors will experience first-class leisure that offers the best in world-class luxury.

I don't believe so, they have the same backers but they are completely separate projects with different teams working on them as far as I can tell.

    The Red Sea Project

The Red Sea Development Company (TRSDC) has awarded contracts to a Saudi company and Swiss firm to support the development plans and structural work of its luxury hotels and resorts in Southern Dunes site and Ummahat Al-Shaykh Island.

The two companies will play pivotal roles in the construction of hotels across The Red Sea Project, where they will be responsible for civil and structural works across 40 hotel villas on the Southern Dunes site, and timber construction planning and fabrication as well as supply works for a hotel situated on Ummahat Al-Shaykh Island.
Upon completion in 2030, the destination will comprise 50 resorts, offering up to 8,000 hotel rooms and around 1,300 residential properties across 22 islands and six inland sites. The destination will also include luxury marinas, golf courses, entertainment, and leisure facilities.
