World's highest rooftop beach to be built on RAK’s Al Marjan Island

The UAE-based Major Developers on Tuesday announced the launch of Dh1-billion Manta Bay on Al Marjan Island in Ras Al-Khaimah, including the world’s first rooftop beach. Construction work on the project has already started and is scheduled to complete at the end of 2026.

It will be the highest beach in the world with its own sand and seawater, the developer said.

The residential freehold project will be built for Dh400 million, housing 450 units with prices starting from Dh1.2 million.

“We believe that it is high time to invest in Ras al Khaimah because the emirate will see a massive inflow of tourists, especially after the opening of the Wynn Resort on the Marjan Island.”

  4. Interesting that Marriott is now entering Marjan with all its brand power.

Until recently it looked like Marjan had an almost exclusive deal with Hilton.

W Al Marjan Island will open in 2027, the same year as the Wynn integrated resort. The Marriott-operated property is in agreement with Dalands Holding in collaboration with Marjan, the master-developer of the island.
The resort will boast 300 rooms and suites with uninterrupted sea views. Design plans for the property include spaces such as the Living Room, WET deck, W Lounge, AWAY Spa and FIT fitness centre. The property is also expected to offer three restaurants and retail space.

  7. It's hard to tell without knowing where you are facing towards but it could be the base of a number of them as many have the similar shape to a certain height. My best guesst is Le Meridien though it doesn't yet have the distinctive curve at the top?

Several of Nevada’s largest publicly traded gaming companies are planning to invest billions of dollars into casino and resort developments throughout the U.S. and internationally. But Las Vegas, for now, is an afterthought.
Wells Fargo Financial gaming analyst Daniel Politzer told investors in a research note earlier this month that projects developed by the Las Vegas Sands, Wynn Resorts and MGM Resorts International could be the most lucrative of the proposals. But some might not make it past the planning stages.

He said Las Vegas Sands, which no longer has gaming properties in the U.S. after the sale of its Strip resorts for $6.25 billion 16 months ago, will spend more than $13 billion to expand and upgrade its Macau and Singapore resorts and is seeking to build a hotel-casino project on Long Island, New York. However, the company is one of nine bidders for three New York City gaming licenses.

Rendering provides a view of the planned $3.9 billion Wynn Al Marjan Island in the United Arab Emirates. The project is expected to open in 2027.

UAE-based Luxe Developers has broken ground on Oceano, an upscale twin-tower waterfront development located on Al Marjan Island, Ras Al Khaimah, stretching over 18 storeys.

The project, valued at over AED1.5 billion ($408 million), boasts 206 units with a mix of one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom apartments, six penthouses, and two exclusive sky villas, in addition to private pools as well as indoor and outdoor entertaining areas.
Oceano will be located on a unique corner plot on Al Marjan Island and spread across a Built Up Area (BUA) of 79,000 sq m.

Residents will have access to a range of amenities often associated with five-star hotels, including a luxury spa, an infinity pool connecting the two towers, a state-of-the-art gym, a cigar lounge, a library, a yoga room, a children’s play area, and a chauffeur’s lounge, stated the developer.
