Where does it say June 2022? I can't find any reference to this.

This magnificent complex will feature 87 spacious, luxurious villas with terraces, three restaurants offering different cuisines, spa, kids program, and even activities such as cooking classes, stargazing and horseback riding.

The Ritz-Carlton Jiuzhaigou was mentioned in the article "23 project openings that need to be on your radar ahead of ’22" with the status "Opening soon"

Hope that the project is still in progress.

Here are some more interior photos.

This article describes how difficult the conditions for building in this location were during the construction. Some interesting bits in here about the way the construction was done.

It also answers the question about the resorts being under different brands.

The first phase of the Jiuzhaigou project includes three plots of Hilton Hotel, Ritz-Carlton Hotel and Jiuzhaigou Cultural Town, with a total of 136 single buildings, of which 89 single buildings are distributed on the slope with a drop of nearly 100 meters. The stepped construction is difficult. great.

The biggest problem in stepped construction is the outdoor pipe network construction. The 89 individual buildings of the Ritz-Carlton Hotel are distributed on 7 steps. Each row has more than 10 guest rooms. The upper and lower rows of guest rooms are divided by stone retaining walls. The distance between the main exterior wall of the guest room building and the retaining wall is only about 5 meters.

So this is extremely confusing, can anyone shed any light on the situation?

The pages on the Ritz-Carlton page for this resort show all the amenities etc but no information on opening / booking. But if you look for a Hilton resort in the same area a very similar looking resort is open there.

    https://www.hilton.com/en/hotels/jzhjihi-hilton-jiuzhaigou-resort/

Where they always the two branded resorts in the same location or has the hotel been sold to another operator and no longer expecting a Ritz-Carlton in that area? The Hilton definitely matches the concept art and resort layout shown here for the Ritz-Carlton and the amenities are described in the same way i.e. villas, spa, location etc.

Here is a photo heavy review of the Hilton and you can see how it matches the concept art and other images we have seen before, would be weird if there were two hotels in the same resort that looked so similar but perhaps that was always the case?

A view from the balcony is all I can find for real life images right now though...

The first time I have seen any sort of opening date other than Qx and a year. Let's hope we see this open as expected.

    Expected opening time: October 2021

The Ritz-Carlton, Jiuzhaigou is an all-villa resort, overlooking the Tibetan village and the majestic Zhongchagou Mountains. Through well-designed interior spaces, localized dining and spa experiences, as well as exploration and exchange activities, it will show guests the tradition, culture, community and spirit of this Chinese valley. The hotel will be unveiled as a Ritz-Carlton, rated Cat 7.

  10. The resort is now set to open in the third quarter of 2021.
