The official website hasn't changed since 2023, the seond announced resort has had literally nothing since the announcement and the most recent online posts I can find on socials are from 2022 saying "opening in 2025"! Anyone have any knowledge of these resorts ever being built at all?

Projection mapping will be performed on the outer wall of the EXPO Hall “Shining Hat” at the Osaka-Kansai Expo. We will be showing one of the world’s top creators works “Promise of dawn” and “ONE,” and also other works gathered from many countries and regions around the world. The projection will be shown every night during the Expo period. So please visit and see them when you are in the Expo.

NEOM Wildlife Reserve
Bajdah, in the Hisma Desert.

I had a really enjoyable visit last weekend and other than the stunning landscapes and rock formations ( previous post) I marveled at the array of incredible wildlife that our colleagues in NEOM Nature have introduced back into the region .

This includes :- Arabian Oryx , Nubian Ibex, Reem Gazelle and ….see if you can spot a fourth species from my pics below

Just amazing. Driving around the reserve and being so close to wildlife that I would never normally get the chance to see .

Well done NEOM Nature team. Reinforcing the protection of endangered species , restoring their role in the natural environment.

And all of this will be , to some extent , “ the garden” to THE LINE , when the city is built and comes alive in the years ahead. And remember too, the beatiful beach and Red Sea location also on our doorstep.

UK studio Zaha Hadid Architects has revealed designs for the Centre of Mediterranean Culture, which is currently under construction on its coastal site in Reggio Calabria, Italy.

Informed by its marine setting, the centre is set to comprise a sinuous, round-edged volume that draws on the "radial symmetry of starfish", and will be finished with reflective aluminium panels and rounded roof openings.

Once complete, the 24,000-metre-square centre will serve as a cultural space hosting events, exhibitions and forums for the local community.

Google Earth new images were taken on November 5th last year.

Nha Trang Rixos should open in March 2025.

This year’s all-inclusive openings will include: Rixos Gulf Hotel Doha, and Rixos Qetaifan Doha, which houses one of the world’s largest waterparks. Both these resorts’ grand openings will coincide with the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar. Later this year will also see the launch of Swissôtel Sharm el Sheikh, the first non-Rixos branded property in Accor’s All-Inclusive Collection with 1,350 rooms, a water park, multiple dining, beach club and entertainment facilities.

Come March 2025, the 573-key Rixos Nha Trang Beach Resort will also join Accor’s All-Inclusive Collection.

Google Earth was last updated in this area in August 2024 but there has been very little movement since 2020 at all even when zoomed in.

You can see the area where the Silk City is meant to go, further explanation on the video with good overlay maps, but there is literally nothing here.
I think we can assume the Silk City is a dead project unless anyone can find any furthe information? Assumed to take 25 years but they have to start at least some time?
