Daisy Ho Chiu Fung, chairman and an executive director of Macau casino operator SJM Holdings Ltd, has spent an aggregate of nearly HKD26.9 million (US$3.45 million) in five recent purchases of company stock, raising her long position in the firm to 0.13 percent from 0.05 percent prior to the acquisitions, according to transaction records filed to the Hong Kong bourse.
On March 23 last year, the stock reached a low of HKD5.900. It coincided with Macau experiencing a drastic decline in arrivals and tourism business, subsequent to a series of travel restrictions imposed respectively by the city’s government and the authorities on the Chinese mainland, amid the global Covid-19 alert.

SJM Holdings’ HKD39-billion Cotai casino resort venture, Grand Lisboa Palace, had a first-phase opening on July 30 this year, but only days later, Macau entered a pandemic prevention alert due to four local people getting infected with the Delta variant of Covid-19. Subsequently visitor numbers to Macau dipped sharply.

It looks like there are a number of new resorts coming to the east of the other resorts featured in this thread.

In this video they feature a couple of resorts and a small water park that are being built along the coast. Can anyone translate what the video is saying for more info on what exactly is being built?

The resort could potentially not be ready to open until late 2022.

With 108 luxury hotels and resorts in 30 countries, the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company is known as one of the world’s most illustrious hospitality brands. Evidently, “construction defects” are not part of its formula for success – and particularly not in Paradise Valley.

Legal documents recently filed in Maricopa County Superior Court reveal behind-the-scenes rancor between the owner and former contractor of the long-delayed Ritz-Carlton Paradise Valley resort and its adjacent residential development, Ritz-Carlton Villas. On April 14, Scottsdale-based Five Star, which is developing the property under the aegis of Ritz-Carlton, filed suit against Utah-based Layton Construction Co. and two other contractors, claiming that “defendants failed to complete two construction projects, the Ritz-Carlton Hotel Project and the Ritz-Carlton Villas Project, in a timely and workmanlike manner.” Two days later, Layton Construction filed a $29.4 million countersuit, citing “collections on unpaid construction services and mechanic’s lien foreclosure.”

The resort was originally scheduled to open in summer 2020, but the COVID-19 pandemic – and construction issues, evidently – stymied its debut. The projected completion date was pushed to first quarter 2021, and then again to “late 2022,” according to Five Star president Jerry Ayoub.

This is the most recent news I can see about Lighthouse Point but it's looking positive that this is going ahead given that they were appointing contractors back in April...

The cruise company held a virtual public meeting last week on its publicly released environmental impact assessment (EIA), where it reaffirmed its pledge to create at least 120 construction jobs for Bahamians.

“Right now, we are still out in a competitive bid environment. We will be looking to select a contractor by mid to end of May to develop the project. The way we are treating the contracting for the project is via a design build, which means that we will hire a general contractor that will be responsible for the design and the construction of the poject,” Senior Project Manager at Walt Disney Imagineering David Chiaradonna said.

“That means they will have the architect, engineer under their purview. What we’ve given them is a very robust request for proposal for the project that will allow them to come up with the means and methods to use sustainable practices, all the things we’re looking at, to develop the project with a very light footprint and very light touch to the environment and the land side portion.”
In addition to construction jobs, Disney Cruise Line has committed to providing 150 permanent jobs for Bahamians, which its Vice President of Public Affairs Kim Prunty said will pay between $600-$700 weekly including benefits.

Does anyone know if there is any movement on this resort? I can't find anything really since it's announcement and Google Maps hasn't been updated since the last image. It looks like this could be a dead project?

As far as I can see there have been no updates on Saadiyat Grove since 2019. There are a few pictures online of this scale model and different variations of what the development would include but it looks like it was meant to tie together the museums district and as those have been so on and off over the past few years I think it's fallen by the wayside.

It may return, or be redone in another format, once the museums etc are further along but it looks like this is the most "realistic" press release I can find for it and it's from November 2019 so not much time to get things moving before the pandemic closure hit.

For those not familiar with the project here are some images of the model and headlines from the project...

Perhaps someone local can see if the Saadiyat Grove Experience Centre is still there?

As part of the launch, Sheikh Khalid visited the Saadiyat Grove experience centre at Mamsha Al Saadiyat and reviewed the designs and the master plan of the 24.2ha development
Once developed, Saadiyat Grove will feature 6ha of retail, entertainment, and leisure spaces comprising 3,706 residential units, 170 of which will be branded, in addition to hotels, as well as co-working spaces for new enterprises and startups.
Phase 1 of Saadiyat Grove will include 606 residential and around 200 retail units, in addition to gyms, pools, kids play areas, community gardens, and a running track that will connect the whole project. Set to be developed in phases, Saadiyat Grove’s Phase 1 will begin handover in 2022.

Another Great Wolf Lodge has broken ground in Maryland...

Construction starts in Perryville on Great Wolf’s largest resort — a $250 million indoor water park and hotel

Great Wolf Resorts Inc. has begun building a $250 million indoor water park and hotel in Perryville that will be the brand’s largest resort and employ more than 850 people. A 700-suite hotel and 126,000-square-foot water park, the 20th for the company, are expected to open in middle-to-late 2023 at Chesapeake Overlook, next to Hollywood Casino Perryville and just off Interstate 95.

SJM Holdings will file a request with Macau’s Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau to transfer 118 gaming tables from its existing properties to Grand Lisboa Palace (GLP), the HK$39 billion Cotai integrated resort that opened on Friday.

Details of the company’s table games expansion plan were outlined by Chairman Daisy Ho during Friday’s opening after SJM confirmed the previous day that it would open with 150 new-to-market tables – all of them on the mass gaming floor.
GLP’s phase 1 opening on Friday saw only a handful of attractions ready to accept guests, including around 300 hotel rooms of the 1,350-room Grand Lisboa Palace Macau hotel, a wellness center with a 25-meter indoor pool, an indoor and outdoor event space covering 3,800 square meters, and a handful of F&B outlets.

Ho said she expects the remaining amenities to be open before the end of 2021.
