From Batman to Bugs Bunny, guests can expect to see a host of the studio’s stars and stories brought to life as part of this new hospitality experience.

As Abu Dhabi relaxes its entry conditions by removing quarantine for unvaccinated travelers — while still requiring PCR tests on arrival for all passengers — one of the most anticipated hotels of recent years is getting ready to open in the capital of the United Arab Emirates. And the pandemic has only made fans of Batman, Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck even more keen.

With a spa, a fitness center, an outdoor pool and five restaurants, the hotel will have plenty of facilities to encourage travelers to plan a multi-day stay to visit Warner Bros. World and the nearby Yas Waterworld water park. Prices per night start at 570AED, or about US$155 (approx. S$208), depending on the season.

Expo 2020 Dubai saw a strong visitor turnout, despite the high temperature, with a total of 411,768 ticketed visits in the first ten days since the world's greatest show opened on October 1, organisers revealed on Monday. The figures include all physical ticket holders but exclude participants, exhibitors and delegations. One in three visitors were tourists from abroad -- with visitors from 175 countries.

Sharing details about the visitor statistics at a press briefing held on Monday morning, officials said in the first 10 days alone, one in five visitors have visited more than once.

The last hospitality project by fashion legend Karl Lagerfeld has opened in Macau, boasting one of the region’s largest collections of Portuguese wine.
Best known for his contribution to the fashion industry, Karl Lagerfeld launched a hospitality line in 2016, with some of his most famous interior projects including Hôtel de Crillon in Paris and Sofitel So Singapore. On 30 July 2021, Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau, the style icon’s last collaborative partner before his death in 2019, unveiled The Karl Lagerfeld hotel tower. The property aims to provide an “immersive journey into the ethos, vision and distinctive aesthetics” of the fashion genius.

As well as rooms and suites, the late Lagerfeld also designed his own F&B outlets, namely the contemporary Portuguese restaurant Mesa (pictured), and the Statement Bar. The interior features a bold blend of contemporary design and oriental inspiration, fusing the designer’s signature style with elements from the East.

John Pagano, CEO of the Red Sea Development Company and the Amaala project - two prominent pillars of the tourism transformation within the Kingdom Vision 2030 - revealed that Saudi Arabia intends to raise up to 10 billion riyals (USD 2.67 billion) next year for the Amaala project, one of the largest resort tourism projects in the world.
Amaala and the Red Sea projects, which are being built on the Red Sea coast, are part of Saudi Arabia’s efforts to diversify the Kingdom’s economy by promoting new sectors such as tourism. The two projects are also environmentally friendly and will rely on renewable sources of energy.
Amaala and The Red Sea Project, wholly owned by the Saudi Public Investment Fund, will most likely merge into the Red Sea Group by the end of this year.

An interesting insight into cashless casinos and cashless resorts, such as the new Resorts World set up.

The gaming industry has adopted the term “omnichannel approach” to cashless technology. In addition to transferring funds, the digital systems are designed to allow customers to easily wager across all platforms — in-person slot machines and table games, sports betting and internet casino gaming in the four states where it is legal.

“We’re in the very early innings of the cashless rollout,” said Scientific Games Executive Vice President Matt Wilson. “In three to four years, more than half of the (casino) operators in the country will have some sort of omnichannel presence. We believe the future is building that digital wallet and allowing the customer to take that wallet and make transactions across all those platforms.”
The AGA released research in June 2020 showing 57 percent of casino visitors said digital or contactless payments on the casino floor are important to them because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Another 59 percent of casino customers said they were less likely to use cash in their everyday lives out of coronavirus concerns.

A Hong Kong-based company with plans to develop an Atlantis-themed resort along with two other big hotel and residential projects in West Oahu has been trying to sell all three properties to address financial difficulties.
Of the three projects, the estimated $1.5 billion Atlantis resort has garnered the most public attention with its promotion as a future landmark featuring 1, 324 guest rooms and luxury apartments, an aquarium, a water park, spas, restaurants, bars and other elements on 26 acres next to Disney's Aulani Resort fronting man-made beach lagoons at Ko Olina Resort &Marina.
The company, which has public stockholders, disclosed in a financial report last month that a potential sale of all three Hawaii properties at the end of June fell through after no final agreement on key terms could be reached with an unidentified buyer following a tentative agreement signed March 30. Oceanwide also said in the same Aug. 25 filing that it was negotiating the potential sale of 17 acres of land in Kapolei. The filing did not otherwise describe the property, though Ko Olina is part of Kapolei.
According to the company's financial report, the Hawaii real estate sale efforts stem from a need to raise cash so Oceanwide can addresses issues with debt and resume construction on a more than $1 billion stalled high-rise project in Los Angeles.

One giant step for Sin City? Plan revealed for 735ft-high Vegas resort in shape of the MOON that has 4,000 hotel rooms, a lagoon and its very own 'lunar colony'
According to the Canadian entrepreneurs behind it, it would cost £3.6billion ($5billion) to build and, with a height of 224 metres (735ft), would become the joint-second-tallest building in Sin City with the JW Marriott, which is currently the second-loftiest structure behind the 350m- (1,149ft) tall Strat Observation Tower.

The celestial retreat – which would be the world's largest sphere - features 4,000 hotel rooms, a 'crater café', a spa, a casino, a lagoon and guests seeking a space-age adventure will be able to take a moon shuttle to a 'lunar colony'.

5 years from next week! How precise!

Frank Gehry's Guggenheim museum in Abu Dhabi has a new opening date: 2026. the news was revealed by the Guggenheim's director, Richard Armstrong, at a press conference in Basel.

‘We think it should be five years from next week,’ the art newspaper reported, adding he will visit the middle east soon. ‘it looks like everything is coming together so we can say something definitive. it has been a relatively long gestation.’

First announced in 2006 and scheduled to open in 2012, the long-awaited project has suffered many ups-and-downs. a new opening date was set for 2017, which obviously didn’t happen, and by the time the museum’s plans seemed to be washed up.

The Tongan Pavilion at Dubai Expo 2020, a multi-million dollar facility built with assistance from the government of UAE, was officially handed over to Tonga's Ambassador ahead of the official opening of the world expo next week.

HE Hon. 'Akau'ola, the Commissioner General of the Tonga Expo team, received the keys, marking the completion of the construction, in a handover ceremony by the Expo Country Manager for Tonga, Mr Samer Mahmassani, on 16 September.
The first floor of the Tonga Pavilion offers a fully digitised, immersive experience leading visitors on a modern high-tech journey with mascots Lafi, a Tongan boy, and Lei, a humpback whale, around the Kingdom of Tonga.

“The adventure begins in the luscious forests of 'Eua islands, next through main island Tongatapu, onwards to the stunning beaches of Ha‘apai and ending at the picturesque islands of Vava‘u.” The aim is to shed light on the dangers of plastic waste to the ocean, its inhabitants and the subsequent challenges faced by the Pacific people emphasising ‘One Planet for All’ as the theme of Tonga Pavilion.

The second floor of the pavilion has fully equipped office spaces and conference rooms to host meetings to explore and advance investment opportunities for Tonga and its people.

New rules and regulations are wiping value from foreign-invested hotels in Macau and could change the future of some of the resorts.

Authorities in the Chinese territory unveiled the biggest shock to the sector since the start of the pandemic: a sweeping proposal to increase oversight that could wrest control of the lucrative industry away from foreign shareholders.
The news wiped $20bn off the value of listed gambling operators, which include Sands China, MGM China, and Wynn Macau. An index that tracks the industry recorded its worst day on record. Industry executives and analysts were blindsided by the extent of the proposed restrictions, which could force them to impose deep changes to their business, including appointing government supervisors to enforce official policy from within. Gaming licence renewals were also not guaranteed.
Casino operators met Macau government officials on Monday, their only scheduled meeting during a 45-day consultation period on the legislation.

The meeting was called so abruptly that descendants of the late casino mogul Stanley Ho, including his daughters Pansy and Daisy who have taken over his holdings, and his son Lawrence, head of Melco Resorts in Macau, were unable to rush back to the Chinese territory in time.
