The construction of the integrated resort (IR) MGM Osaka kicked off on Thursday, April 24th, in Osaka, at a location adjacent to the 2025 World Expo venue.

“This would be Japan’s first IR. We’d like to bring economic growth to Osaka and Japan,” Osaka Governor Hirofumi Yoshimura stated during the groundbreaking ceremony hosted by the project’s operator, Osaka IR KK, according to Kyodo News.

The total investment is projected at up to JPY1.6 trillion ($10 billion), positioning it among the world’s most expensive integrated resorts. According to planning documents, the facility will feature 2,500 hotel rooms, a shopping mall, a 3,500-seat theater, spa and fitness center, convention facilities, and diverse dining and entertainment options. Japanese law limits the gaming floor to 3 percent of the total indoor space. The project has already secured a $3.4 billion loan as part of its financing.

Lead8 has been appointed by Galaxy Entertainment Group on a multi-disciplinary scope for Galaxy Macau’s Phase 4. Lead8 is delivering the interior design for the development’s lifestyle retail zone and casino, and the architectural design for the luxury villas and central dome.

The Phase 4 development of the integrated resort precinct will introduce six high-end hotel brands to Macau alongside a theatre, F&B and retail offerings, non-gaming amenities, a water resort deck, and a casino.

The future Phase 4 will complete the Galaxy Macau ecosystem in Cotai, connecting to Galaxy Macau and the recently completed Phase 3 development, which includes Galaxy International Convention Center, Galaxy Arena, Andaz Macau and Raffles at Galaxy Macau.

Galaxy Macau Phase 4 is currently under construction.

Does anybody know about the construction progress on the Oblisco Capitale tower? Has construction started yet?

What I’ve read is that construction is supposed to commence in 2025. I saw a post or two online claiming that it started in November 2024, but nothing official has been confirmed. I didn’t find anything myself. I know it’s supposed to be in the CBD. Does anyone have a master plan of the CBD to see where the Oblisco Capitale Tower is supposed to be?

On February 19th, Cairo time, Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly visited the New Capital CBD project, accompanied by Housing Minister Sherif El-Sherbiny, Deputy Minister Ahmed Abdel Razek, and other officials. ✨🏝

During the visit, Dr. Madbouly and the delegation toured the residential tower D03, explored the model apartment units on the 43rd floor. They also inspected the CUC Energy Center and the model serviced apartments on the 47th floor of the Iconic Tower. The Prime Minister praised the project's progress and high-quality execution!

What I understand is that KidZania in 11 Skies had trial operations last year during the summer holidays. The first phase of the entertainment facilities is planned to open in the second quarter of 2025. No exact date is available yet.

Marina Bay Sands’ total bill to the Singapore Tourism Board was recently updated to include an additional US$1 billion for it’s upcoming expansion project.

The reasons behind this additional cost were covered under a Second Supplemental Agreement under which the company committed to assume liability for the cost of the land premium associated with the purchase of an additional gaming area to that previously agreed. This also includes other land premiums resulting from changes to the expansion project’s design and floor area allocations.
