The Four Seasons in Sharm El Sheikh will almost double in size with it's newly announced expansion plans.

Along a kilometre of private beachfront where the southern Sinai desert meets the Red Sea, Four Seasons Resort Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt has been a favourite of sunseekers since opening nearly 20 years ago. Now, a major expansion and enhancement project will add 22 hectares (54 acres), doubling the size of the current property and making room for more guest accommodations, dining options and pools, plus an all-new fitness facility and a large conference centre for meetings and destination weddings.
When the enhancements are complete in early 2022, Four Seasons Resort Sharm El Sheikh will offer a large collection of luxury suites including multi-bedroom residence-style accommodations with private pools; five new food and beverage concepts; renovated spa and all-new two-storey fitness centre; enhanced recreational facilities including a new PADI dive centre plus tennis and squash courts; and for its youngest guests, an all-new dedicated children’s club. A new state-of-the-art convention centre will more than double the Resort’s event capacity with new indoor and outdoor spaces for up to 2,000 guests.

With a lot of the developement work going out into the sea there has been an agreement to catalogue and preserve the shipwrecks and other archeological finds that are disturbed and have them on display in museums and as part of the overall Red Sea Project for visitors.

The Red Sea Development Company (TRSDC), established to drive the development of The Red Sea Project, a luxury, regenerative tourism destination that aims to set new standards in sustainable development and position the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) on the global tourism map, has partnered with the Ministry of Culture, to unite efforts in the fields of archaeology, heritage, history and sustainable tourism along Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea coast.
All artefacts will be preserved, catalogued, and stored in the Red Sea Museum in Jeddah, while some pieces will be displayed for visitors of The Red Sea Project. “The hull, which has calcified into something akin to petrified wood, and the approximately 4,000 highly decorated earthenware jars of various colours, shapes and designs, which has also calcified into a solid mass, will be left in place for divers to see.

“This will provide one of the most unique diving destinations anywhere in the world in less than 25 metres of calm, clear water,” Pagano said. The partnership also enables a full seabed survey to be delivered, stretching from Jeddah, upwards along the coastlines of The Red Sea Project and AMAALA, one of the potential extra-luxurious tourism destination megaprojects conceived by Saudi Vision 2030.

As Genting issued its financial reports for the third quarter of 2021 on Thursday, much attention went to its $4.3 billion US flagship property, Resorts World Las Vegas, which posted its financial results for its first full quarter of operations since opening on June 24. The state-of-the-art casino posted revenue of $175 million and Adjusted EBITDA of $27 million, with a number of attractions still yet to open.
Performance of RWLV was partly negatively impacted by Nevada’s mandate to require face masks while in public indoor spaces regardless of vaccination status, Genting representatives stated. The hotel occupancy rate was 54.9% through Q3, as many conventions and social events were canceled “as a result of the mandate.”
Revenue from the property came from the casino and a number of amenities, including the Zouk Nightclub, the spa, retail outlets and restaurants, which all opened during the quarter. Additional retail, restaurants and The Theatre at RWLV are set to open in the fourth quarter.

Genting Group's revenue was $827.5 million, an increase of 6% compared with the previous year’s corresponding quarter. However, Adjusted EBITDA for the period was $214.1 million, a figure down 17% versus 2020.

More details on the Macau Studio City expansion

Zaha Hadid Architects has been remarkably busy lately, unveiling its Budapest proposal and the completed Infinitus Plaza within days of each other. The high-profile British firm has now taken the wraps off yet another project, which is currently under construction in China and consists of two eye-catching towers in a casino resort that are designed to mitigate their carbon footprint with sustainability features.
The Studio City Phase 2 development is located in the "Hollywood-inspired" Studio City resort in Macau and will expand its facilities. The towers are now reported to have reached their maximum height – marked by a recent topping off ceremony – though as of writing we're awaiting word from ZHA to confirm how tall they actually are. To put them into some kind of context, a similarly sized building nearby reaches a height of 152 m (almost 500 ft).
Stylistically, the towers are informed by the Art Deco-inspired architecture of the resort and have an elliptical overall form. Their interiors will host two luxury hotels with 900 rooms and suites, plus 21,000 sq m (roughly 226,000 sq ft) of retail and dining space, and 2,300 sq m (24,800 sq ft) of gaming space.

Therme Group’s strategic partner Wund Holding, operating as ThermenGruppe Josef Wund, has unveiled plans for the creation of Germany’s largest wellbeing resort in Bad Vilbel, part of the Frankfurt Rhein-Main metropolitan area.
Construction is set to begin within a year, with opening scheduled for 2023. More than 1.3 million guests are forecast to visit each year.

Located on the banks of the Nidda river, the project builds on Therme Group and Wund Holding’s shared vision of creating the world’s most-advanced wellbeing resorts which address the vital modern-day need for accessible wellbeing for all.
The experience includes activities for children, adults and seniors with sports and leisure swimming and a family area with more than 30 waterslides. Expansive thermal and mineral pools sit alongside relaxation areas. Guests can enjoy delicious food with a focus on healthy options that the whole family will love. A full range of wellness activities are available with beautifully designed saunas and individual therapy rooms for personalised treatments.

The new facility will be home to a biodiverse ecosystem that includes more than 1,800 palm trees and thousands of other plants delivered with the support of Therme NAT, Therme Group’s specialist botanics company. As part of Therme Group’s wider commitment to the communities it serves, Therme NAT has begun a greening project in the town of Bad Vilbel. By introducing a variety of species including many trees as well as bee and butterfly friendly perennials and shrubs, Therme NAT is helping to improve Bad Vilbel’s urban biodiversity.

From Batman to Bugs Bunny, guests can expect to see a host of the studio’s stars and stories brought to life as part of this new hospitality experience.

As Abu Dhabi relaxes its entry conditions by removing quarantine for unvaccinated travelers — while still requiring PCR tests on arrival for all passengers — one of the most anticipated hotels of recent years is getting ready to open in the capital of the United Arab Emirates. And the pandemic has only made fans of Batman, Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck even more keen.

With a spa, a fitness center, an outdoor pool and five restaurants, the hotel will have plenty of facilities to encourage travelers to plan a multi-day stay to visit Warner Bros. World and the nearby Yas Waterworld water park. Prices per night start at 570AED, or about US$155 (approx. S$208), depending on the season.

Expo 2020 Dubai saw a strong visitor turnout, despite the high temperature, with a total of 411,768 ticketed visits in the first ten days since the world's greatest show opened on October 1, organisers revealed on Monday. The figures include all physical ticket holders but exclude participants, exhibitors and delegations. One in three visitors were tourists from abroad -- with visitors from 175 countries.

Sharing details about the visitor statistics at a press briefing held on Monday morning, officials said in the first 10 days alone, one in five visitors have visited more than once.

The last hospitality project by fashion legend Karl Lagerfeld has opened in Macau, boasting one of the region’s largest collections of Portuguese wine.
Best known for his contribution to the fashion industry, Karl Lagerfeld launched a hospitality line in 2016, with some of his most famous interior projects including Hôtel de Crillon in Paris and Sofitel So Singapore. On 30 July 2021, Grand Lisboa Palace Resort Macau, the style icon’s last collaborative partner before his death in 2019, unveiled The Karl Lagerfeld hotel tower. The property aims to provide an “immersive journey into the ethos, vision and distinctive aesthetics” of the fashion genius.

As well as rooms and suites, the late Lagerfeld also designed his own F&B outlets, namely the contemporary Portuguese restaurant Mesa (pictured), and the Statement Bar. The interior features a bold blend of contemporary design and oriental inspiration, fusing the designer’s signature style with elements from the East.
