The iconic guitar-shaped Hard Rock Hotel that may change the face of the Las Vegas Strip could be one step closer to reality. Workers will be drilling in six different locations at the Mirage Resort this week to determine where exactly to construct the iconic Hard Rock Guitar.
Those in the area may hear some noise and even feel some vibrations as soon as the drilling starts, though hotel officials say it's not expected to impact any guest rooms within the hotel or nearby.
Though the drilling was set to begin on Monday, hotel officials tell us drilling will officially begin on Tuesday, due to some clearance issues. The work is expected to last from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for 10 weekdays, but the work will pause over the weekends.

Las Vegas Sands Corp. will invest at least $3.8 billion in new facilities in Macau over the next ten years as part of the renewal of its concession to operate casinos in the market.
About 92% of the planned spending will be in non-casino attractions, including meeting space, entertainment facilities and a new garden attraction, Sands said in a presentation to investors Wednesday.

Plans for the new Lake Nona Disney campus have been released.

Construction of the Disney’s Lake Nona campus will be phased. Upon completion, it will consist of six office buildings, two flex buildings, three parking garages, a central plant, and a surface parking lot for visitors. While the zoning allows for a maximum height of 10 stories, the initial plan calls for buildings to range in height from four to seven stories. Each of the parking garages will have six levels.

The bulk of the built environment, 1.46 million square feet, is defined as general offices, while the remaining 346,000 square feet will be flex office/industrial. The offices featured 60,000 square feet of solar panels plus 2 acres of green roofs to meet the commitment to be carbon net-zero.

Could we really be seeing the start of the Moon resort in Dubai?

The demolition of the Dubai Pearl development, a project overlooking the Palm Jumeirah, sent tremors in neighbouring areas on Monday. Residents on the Palm, as well as those in Dubai Media City, took to social media to report they felt the ground shake this morning.
Valued at $10 billion, the mega project, which was announced in 2002, was supposed to feature more than 1,000 apartments, 60 restaurants, a theatre and seven five-star hotels. Reports about the deconstruction started circulating late last year, when some residents spotted demolition equipment at the project site.

Work commenced in September to clear the way for the £250 million destination, with the demolition set to be complete by Christmas 2022. Work involves demolishing the 28,000 square metre former EventCity conference and exhibition centre on Barton Dock Road.

Efteling aims to be climate neutrality by 2030 and climate positive by 2032. Another step to this process is the installation of a further 12,000 solar panels to the park.
Construction is set to commence in May and is expected to be in operation by September of this year. The solar area will cover 29,200 m² big, equivalent to six football fields. Efteling will be able to generate almost 35% of its electricity each year.
To respect the area, the soil that has been removed from the construction sites of Efteling Grand Hotel and the new Huyverwoud-themed area will be used to plant these trees.
