Eden Project North will be a major new attraction in Morecambe, Lancashire. A destination that combines indoor and outdoor experiences, connecting people with the internationally-significant natural environment of Morecambe Bay while also enhancing wellbeing. Exhibits, performance, learning, play, immersive experiences, world-class horticulture, live music, art, food, beverage and retail spaces, all integrated as essential parts of the overall experience.

Eden Project North will showcase sustainable design, reimagining the British seaside resort for the 21st century, and is due to open in 2024. Eden Project North’s “shell like” domes will be constructed in timber and covered in a flexible transparent membrane with integrated solar cells. These four shells – known as the Rhythm Machine, the Bay Glade, the Bay Hall and the Natural Observatory – are set in a “dunescape” of landscaped roofing planted with coastal vegetation.

The layout of the domes has evolved since the early stages of design and they now surround the central Four Seasons Garden, to make better use of the available space and light while providing more sheltered public space. Surrounding the buildings will be a collection of beautiful outdoor gardens, designed to reflect the flora, geology and rhythms of their unique coastal environment. These include the Rhythm Garden, which reimagines the existing Bay Arena and the Tide Garden, whose beds spiral down towards a tidal pool at the garden’s centre.

During a recent consultation, several new images of "conceptual sketches" were shown to residents, detailing what some of the Eden Project North exhibits could look like. They were presented by the head of content and creativity Sam Smit, who spoke at the meeting alongside Eden Project chief executive David Harland, Blair Parkin, head of experience development and creative developer Polly Gregson.

Sam also revealed the project's desire to create a range of exciting and fulfilling eating experiences. Eden Project North will have two restaurants, one on either side of the site, with both featuring indoor and outdoor seating and boasting spectacular views across Morecambe Bay.
