NEOM's Trojena ski resort is planning to open in 2026:

Last month, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman unveiled plans for Trojena, the Gulf region’s first-ever outdoor ski resort, which, unlike the Alps of Europe, can be reached by almost 40 percent of the world’s population within four hours. The site, which will feature sporting events, art exhibitions, concerts and cultural festivals, is expected to attract 700,000 visitors and 7,000 permanent residents by 2030. Planners say the project is due for completion by 2026.

And one more breathtaking teaser of Trojena:

  2. These NEOM artwork teasers remind me of Dubai back in 2006, when the Palm Jumeirah, Palm Jebel Ali, Palm Deira, The World and Dubai Waterfront islands were built at the same time, and off-plan villas sold on them.

As in Dubai, I bet only 10%-20% of what we see right now will actually come to fruition.

This is from a previous article mentioned earlier in the thread...

While average temperatures around the year remain around 10 degree Celsius lower than other cities in the country, its winter temperatures drop below zero. Located at approximately 2,600 meters above sea level, outdoor skiing will be a unique feature of Trojena which is positioning itself as the GCC’s first outdoor skiing destination.
But even with winter temperatures below zero, it is likely to be something other than "genuine" or even artificially created snow made from water. It's likely to be a fully artificial substance with a layer of artificially water created snow to cover the top much like they do to extend the season in other ski resorts around the world.
