MoheganInspire Entertainment Resort (MoheganInspire), which is developing a mixed-use resort in the International Business Complex (IBC-Ⅲ) near Incheon Airport, held a press conference and site tour at the Inspire construction site on April 26.
The company also shared the resort's opening schedule for the fourth quarter and its brand vision of a "new standard for entertainment resorts.
After being selected to develop a resort in Yeongjongdo, Incheon, in March 2016, MoheganInspire has been accelerating its development project even during the COVID-19 pandemic, successfully completing the funding for Phase 1A in November 2021. As of April 2023, the construction progress rate of Phase 1A has reached 63%, and we are aiming for smooth completion and opening. The total project cost for Phase 1A is approximately KRW 960 billion, totaling nearly KRW 2 trillion, including foreign direct investment.
MoheganInspire plans to open most of the integrated resort facilities, excluding the casino, in the fourth quarter of this year. This will include three hotel towers (totaling 1,275 rooms) designed with different concepts based on the beautiful nature of Incheon's Yeongjongdo and Yongyu Island, Korea's first multi-purpose indoor performance venue Arena (totaling 15,000 seats), indoor water dome (Splash Bay, totaling 9,500㎡) for all generations, an outdoor attraction space (Park, approximately 100,000㎡), Korea's largest hotel convention center, and MICE facilities with state-of-the-art facilities.
In addition, there will be world-class retail combining shopping, dining, and entertainment, a digital shopping street implemented with the latest IT and digital technologies, and a media art exhibition hall. The foreigners-only casino is targeted to commence operations in the first quarter of 2024, following approval of its five-star hotel status.
