Lisboeta Macau, a Cotai leisure complex, is due to open some attractions on July 17, according to a Wednesday press release from the site’s promoter, Macau Theme Park and Resort Ltd.

Lisboeta Macau is a resort project next door to the under-development HKD39-billion (US$5 billion) Grand Lisboa Palace, a scheme by Macau casino operator SJM Holdings Ltd. Macau Theme Park and Resort is fronted by Arnaldo Ho Yau Heng, a son of Angela Leong On Kei by late Macau gaming entrepreneur Stanley Ho Hung Sun. Ms Leong and Mr Arnaldo Ho are part of the leadership setup at SJM Holdings.

Lisboeta Macau facilities to open on July 17 include GoAirborne Indoor SkyDiving, described as “the first indoor skydiving experience in Macau”.

There will also be a debut for ZIPCITY, featuring a 388-metre long (1,273 feet) zip line ride, and a night market. These venues run from Thursdays to Sundays, from 2pm to 10pm each day.
As of Wednesday, the hotel at Lisboeta Macau was still being used for medical observation as part of the Macau government’s response to the Covid-19 emergency. The hotel is to be used as a quarantine venue for at least until the end of July, according to GGRAsia checks.

A soft opening with premium offerings for this quarter looks likely!

SJM Holdings’ long-awaited Cotai integrated resort, Grand Lisboa Palace, will open with around 300 gaming tables and 300 hotel rooms, plus a handful of F&B and retail outlets, before the end of the quarter.

The company provided details on its launch plans during its 1Q21 earnings call with analysts on Tuesday, including a detailed focus on how its gaming areas will look once operations finally get underway at the HK$39 billion (US$5 billion) IR.
According to analysts, SJM management confirmed that Grand Lisboa Palace will hold a partial opening before the end of Q2 with 304 gaming tables and 1,034 slot machines during the initial stages plus around 300 hotel rooms – rising later to 1,892 rooms once its two boutique hotels – Palazzo Versace Macau and Karl Lagerfeld Hotel – open in the coming months.
