One of the opening day restaurants at Resorts World has already closed it's doors.

Restaurant Marigold has closed its doors just five months after it opened inside of Resorts World. The restaurant, by chef Billy Richardson, ceased operations on Dec. 2, according to Resorts World spokeswoman Dana Rutkin.

Richardson’s father, Bill Richardson, was the lead construction manager for Resorts World through his company, W.A. Richardson Builders, LLC.

As Genting issued its financial reports for the third quarter of 2021 on Thursday, much attention went to its $4.3 billion US flagship property, Resorts World Las Vegas, which posted its financial results for its first full quarter of operations since opening on June 24. The state-of-the-art casino posted revenue of $175 million and Adjusted EBITDA of $27 million, with a number of attractions still yet to open.

Performance of RWLV was partly negatively impacted by Nevada’s mandate to require face masks while in public indoor spaces regardless of vaccination status, Genting representatives stated. The hotel occupancy rate was 54.9% through Q3, as many conventions and social events were canceled “as a result of the mandate.”

Revenue from the property came from the casino and a number of amenities, including the Zouk Nightclub, the spa, retail outlets and restaurants, which all opened during the quarter. Additional retail, restaurants and The Theatre at RWLV are set to open in the fourth quarter.

Genting Group's revenue was $827.5 million, an increase of 6% compared with the previous year’s corresponding quarter. However, Adjusted EBITDA for the period was $214.1 million, a figure down 17% versus 2020.

Lim Keong Hui, the Deputy CEO of Genting Berhad and son of the group’s Chairman and CEO Lim Kok Thay, has opened his latest Zouk nightclub venue at Resorts World Las Vegas.

Zouk Las Vegas opened its doors for the first time on 17 September, with superstar Dutch DJ Tiësto performing in the venue’s substantial 26,060-square-foot main room. The nightclub is located along a 70,000-square foot retail space called The District at RWLV, home to the property’s other nightclub venues Ayu Dayclub, Fuhu restaurant and lounge and RedTail sports bar.

Its latest home, RWLV, opened on 24 June and when fully ramped will offer more than 40 F&B outlets, a 5,000-capacity concert and entertainment venue, 250,000 square feet of meeting and banquet space, a 5.5-acre pool complex and 117,000 square feet of casino floor with 117 table games and 1,400 slot machines, plus five private gaming salons.

It will also boast 3,500 hotel rooms across three Hilton brands – Las Vegas Hilton at Resorts World, Conrad Las Vegas at Resorts World and Crockfords Las Vegas – and has been touted as the most technologically advanced property on the Strip with cashless payment technology resort-wide, including on the gaming floor.

They sure are getting a lot of use out of the screen already!

Job interview invitations are going out within days to potential employees for the 6,000 jobs at Resorts World Las Vegas. This is happening as tourism in Las Vegas is in a slump.

Resort World Las Vegas executive Lori Calderon said on LinkedIn this week that company leaders “will begin the process of extending invitations to interview this upcoming week.” She is executive director of talent acquisition and community engagement at Resorts World Las Vegas.

Calderon encouraged people to apply for jobs by going to the Resorts World Las Vegas website. A careers link on the site allows applicants to create a profile and search for job titles. The site also allows job seekers to chat with a virtual recruiter.
