No work ongoing on the land.

  2. The most up to date video I can find is from June and shows nothing happening on that parcel of land at all. I think we can assume that, given the current economic conditions, that will not be developed for a while.

This is the land that Oceanwide own and are developing as a residential community and golf course, you can see the site for Ko Olina in the background of the first photo. Looks like some of the groundworks were completed in 2019 and from reports of the area they are building more public transportation out to that side of the Island in the hope of moving residents away from the main city of Honolulu.

The railway is progressing, the foundations of the community are on the way but yet nothing is happening over at Ko Olina? Perhaps they are using the capital made from this project to fund the resort?

The Kapolei West project is part of an undertaking to further develop the west side of Oahu and transform the area into a flourishing community.

I did find this interesting piece of news though, I can't find anything to really back it up.

It looks like China Oceanwide bought more than just the parcel of land for Atlantis and also intend to develop other areas of Ko Olina.

The map shows the two oceanfront properties the company bought at Ko Olina and its plans for those parcels. A little further inland (top right) is a larger parcel that China Oceanwide intends to turn into a residential subdivision with golf course.
Oceanwide Hawaii’s largest land purchase was a combined 514 acres in Kapolei West, located between Ko Olina and Kapolei Commons. It was purchased for $98 million in October 2016.

Still nothing according to this video from January, other projects by the developers of Atlantis Ko Olina are having some issues and this could be affecting it. No real news to be shared but no construction as yet.

  6. Is there still no construction on this site?
